Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
I wouldn't write off the Hornets drafting McLemore with them supposedly shopping Gordon at the deadline, plus Rivers is terrible. I don't know if the Kings wouldn't be dumb and take him too, even though they have Evans, Thornton, and the Jimmer. Other than that, I concur with Ichiro.

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
Is it just me or is our recent draft history looking good for once and amazingly the draft has played out splendidly unlike the usual circumstances regarding a team in rebuild mode.
2011-(7)(C/PF)Bismack Biyombo/(9)(PG)Kemba Walker
2012-(2)(SF/SG)Michael Kidd-Gilchrist/(31)(SG/SF)Jeffery Taylor
2013-(?)(SG)Muhammad/McLemore/Smart/Oladipo
2014-(?)(PF)Randle?
Incredibly if we draft a SG in this draft and a PF in 2014 we have drafted our future starting 5 whilst still taking BPA in both terms of ability and potential(aside from the Biyombo high risk/high reward) I'm very happy with the Biyombo and MKG picks as it allows us to be bad enough over the 3-4 years to stay within the top 4 picks.
In terms of potential for this team it has both a high floor and a high ceiling.

I'm not feeling too stressed out about this draft, it's gonna be hard for Cho to mess it up. All the talent is roughly the same, you basically just pick the best fit.

Chances we take a swing at a homerun ala Shabazz?

Conventional wisdom seem to think of Shabazz Muhammad as a SF only. I believe that his style of play is better fit to be a SG than a SF but I'm not considered a expert, at least not yet.

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
I am starting to come around on idea of Anthony Bennett some what. Early in the season I was totally against him, because he is undersized for the PF position. However, the more I think about it I think he would be fine there, especially since a lot of teams are going with smaller lineups.
for example: Lebron, Melo, Josh Smith, Crash, Jeff Green, Thad Young, Rudy Gay, Derrick Williams, Michael Beasley, Shawn Marion, Wilson Chandler, Chandler Parsons, Draymond Green and Ron Artest all logging good minutes at the 4 position this season. It seems like the league is transitioning to a more spread out game.
Also, from a team make up he would seem to be a decent fit personnel wise thanks to his ability to hit outside jumpers. It would allow for more spacing for Kemba and MKG. MKG and Bennett could be interchangeable on offense with MKG going inside and Bennett outside, so MKG isnt forced into as many jumpers.
Bennett could be the dynamic partner for Kemba to run the pick and roll/pop we have been waiting for, but like I said we would continue to be an undersized team with either Biz or Mullens playing Center alongside Bennett. Also, if we drafted Bennett, 2nd, then resigning Hendo becomes more realistic option even if its just a short term overpaid contract like 2 years 13 million or something. Not sure if we would get portland pick, but guys like Goodwin, Crabbe, and Hardaway Jr. may come into play.
Honestly it still prolly makes more sense to grab a 2 guard early like McLemore or Smart and then hope to grab a big with Portland pick (if we have it) and like we have said the free agent class seems to have better bigs then guards this year.

McLemore on TV at 2:00pm today.
I hope he does "Thrift Shop".
I love that tune.

McLemore has had an incredible half against WVU.
19 points (5 of 7 FG) 3 reb, 1 ast.
I think he'd be a really good fit next to Kemba. Highly efficient scorer who will spread the floor and not challenge Kemba's alpha dog role.

^ Yeah, I'm watching right now also.
Agree McLemore has got to be the pick for us if he's on the board.

He's been all over the floor, diving for balls, attacking the rim, beating guys off the bounce. Awesome athlete who has looked good on defense too. And I'm a sucker for a pretty jumper.
He's moved his way into my top 3
That's from December 8th, when he was still a late first/2014 draft projection

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
McLemore + Cauley-Stein would be a coup. I do worry a bit about McLemore being so good that he helps pull us out of Wiggins territory but if we stack the frontcourt with project bigs we should be good for one more tank.

If there are any doubts about McLemore being to soft, he seems to have fought through really rough times his whole life. I don't think he's afraid of much.

Unfortunately, I think just about every team is going to be thinking this way.
Humble yourself.
