Re: Around the NBA 11
Yes, this takes them out of the running for Ayton/Miles. Weird that they couldn't just wait.
Knicks now have max space, but they are going after Brunson instead of Ayton who they should go after. Go after Ayton, then trade RJ Barrett and 3 first for Dejounte, and their future is much better than just signing Brunson

Wish I could say Gerald Wallace though.
Why can't you say Crash??
Ammo is the first player that comes to mind when I hear Bobcats because I have a negative association. Maybe if the Hornets are ever consistently successful I'll have fonder memories and Crash Wallace will be the guy I remember.

Detroit around 27 million in cap space after adding Kemba, Duren, Ivey, Noel and Burks to the payroll this week. That is if they renounce Bagley, so not 100% safe from them poaching Bridges, but seems to be headed in that way. Doesn't mean someone else doesn't make a strong push for him though. I would assume they give Bagley a deal around 8-13 AAV depending on how much they like him. So Detroit may opt to still be dumping ground for final 15-20 million in cap space post Bagley.

I don't think Duren's hold is included yet because the deal hasn't been announced yet

Yeah, but it will be before the new league flips over. I am just looking at practical cap space. As it stands tonight unless Detroit ends up sending one of these salaries out somewhere else they are at 27 million max (renouncing Bagley). Hard to imagine Hornets wouldn't match that offer.

Re: Around the NBA 11
Apparently Weaver said after draft he might not be desperate to throw big money in free agency as he is happy with the young crew he's got. This trade seems to support that some what.
They still do have a whole at power forward though. Unless Bagley comes good

I mean...it will be interesting seeing him on the Knicks. He's really solid. But my gut feeling is that his ceiling as the number 1-2 option on a team is too low and it'll be tough for him to get over the hump.

How much does detroit have to offer Miles?
Bit of a head scratcher for the Pistons, but this is amazing for us! It really seems like the price just went down for MIles...the Pistons were by far the biggest threat to throw him a substantial offer.
Are the Pistons signaling that they're trying to compete now...? Noel might start, Burks/Ivey starting at the 2 now? I'd have just rolled with all of the young guys so that Ivey and Duren can get a healthy amount of minutes instead of signing 2 mediocre vets.
I guess other moves can always be made...but we'd be fools not to retain Miles. It's nothing less than catastrophic if we don't IMO...talk about a bad look: homegrown draft pick just doesn't get paid what he earned, he was our leading scorer last year and is just a joy to watch, and don't even get me started on the implications with Melo staying long term if we punt Miles away.

Brunson is good, but not 30m good.
I think he'll average 18/5/8 or something similar.

Real head scratcher for Detroit to take on that salary for 2nds. Oh how the turn tables.

I think they’re happy with the direction they’re heading and wanted some vets.

Remember when some posters wanted to throw bag loads of cash or use significant assets (players and picks) for Mitchell Robinson?
And now it looks like he is signing for 4/$60.

I was on the MLE for Robinson train. Anything more would've been gross.

Re: Around the NBA 11
4/60 is not bad at all for Mitchell Robinson, its actually a little under value. All of us here would trade Plumlee (9) and Oubre (12) for him instantly. He's only 24, and played great last year.
