I stand corrected, really didn't think he'd go that route. Interesting development.

More interesting timing. No reason he needed to do that before the draft.

I'll just recycle my Al opt-in reaction.

If he's going to opt in, better to do it before the draft.

I have no clue if Cho will make any moves, and I know our FO and coaching staff both like Al and Hendo, but it gives Cho a lot more flexibility to have the certainty of already moving Lance and also having certainty about Al and Hendo opting in well in advance of the draft.

Some on this board may think Hendos a solid player but there's zero evidence any other team in the league values him in any way whatsoever, and especially not at six million a year.

I don't see why people are so upset he opted in. Short of him being injured all season long or something like that, he most assuredly will provide more of an impact than we would have otherwise had with an additional freed up ~6m.

According to his highlights ( ), he's gives max effort. I'm pretty sure Billy King will be very intrigued.

This is important. Gerald is probably getting traded on draft day. No other explanation. I think we're finally going to see some major changes around here.

I'm still surprised Gerald opted in. I'm sure he could find a $6M contract on the open market, but maybe he wants to be part of the 2016 frenzy. Also his value goes up if we have a good year and he's along for the ride (or if he gets traded to a bad team where he can stat pad his way to 17/4/4.

Gerald is probably not getting traded anywhere because there is no market for him, thus the opt in.

That's my belief, but I wouldn't be mad at Cho if he used Henderson + #9 to slightly trade down in a package to a team in the late lottery, probably something including Boston or Utah

Hendo is a human torpedo and a total anchor on our draft position. So sad.
