Interesting prospect - 22 year old C, 7'1" with a 7'8" wingspan, averaged 3.6 bpg in 23.4 mpg (5.2 blocks per 36 minutes) in the G league last year

Some of the blocks in this video are **** ridiculous, video game style:

Yeah, hope he works out. Sadly, Jupiter and Pluto were not available.

Is Uranus available?

No way we let another Uranus on this team.

Looks like this Neptune guy got his head coaching job due to his association with Jay Wright. Wasn’t very good.

Same here, I'm nervous it's going to be painful and frustrating but I can't wait for it to start

Hey, when your at the bottom there is only one direction to go. Its hard for me to believe we have less talent on the roster than the pistons. I think we at least switch places with them.

Just so I'm clear, you think the Hornets jump from 19 wins to "at least" 44 and/or the 6th seed?

I think LaMelo is better than Cade

Miles Bridges and Tobias are close

Brandon Miller plus Kon are better than any of the young players they have.

If we finish worse than the pistons we should fire the coach.

We should probably win at least 47 games and get the 3rd seed considering the injuries to tatum and Haliburtin. If we don’t,…. time to fire the coach. (And gm)

Not a Pistons fan so I don't have their offseason moves memorized and don't care enough to check them, but, my feel-o-meter calibration indicates that a number of the veteranish players that they had during their hard to explain improvement have left and not been replaced, so they should likely be worse than 44 wins/6th seed.

Anyway, my expectation is that the Hornets challenge for the play-in and are mostly healthy. They don't have to actually be a top 10 team in the East by the end, they just need to show enough competence that for more than less of the season that possibility is within striking distance.

If the team doesn't perform well, I think the front office will shop LaMelo pretty hard. I don't think they are sold on him as the star player and crap bigs or not, they will move him if it's not working.

That's my early prediction. I lean towards wanting to keep him as he is clearly the most talented, but I get it if they can't get consistent play out of him

Lamelo isn't better then cade in any way. I think i speak for the majority of the board when i say if we traded lamelo for cade straight up, we'd all be absolute ecstatic.

I’ve tried to be optimistic prior to every new season. This edition certainly brings more hope. How much confidence do we put into this construct? I’m thinking 28 wins. That’s improvement but not as much as many would want. Why? No true center, and inevitable injuries despite better depth. Can’t help but feel that way, until they prove things are different.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

If we even signed a center like sharpe from the nets who was a free agent i would say this team would be 32 wins if melo played 40ish games with improved depth. Atleast this season every position except center will be covered by actual NBA level players. Especially guard. The level of guard play this year compared to last year will be night and day. If miller is healthy and breaks out and miles stays solid and melo plays 70 games we could realistically get 8 to 6th seed if we got a real center before the deadline.

This team is tanking. The moment we didn't get a #1 or #2 pick on draft lottery day, that fate was sealed. Might as well make the 2026 NBA draft thread. We are finishing with a bottom 6 record

The roster has enough talent to win 40 games

The main reason I am pessimistic is Charles Lee hasn’t shown he knows how to play them together.

If they share the ball the way SL team did look out.

If it’s still individual high usage and hunting 3s then hold your nose

It all depends on Melo and Brandon. We have enough offensive talent to make the playin or maybe the 6th seed if we're healthy, and Lee can figure it out.
