Neither player makes his teammates better. JJ would by default for his spacing alone. Kemba and MKG really need that space to slash and drive.

Jefferson makes sense beside Anthony Davis. That's a team on the brink that needs a boost. Al is just a 1-year experiment. I'd take Gordon for him.

Joe Johnson simply fills the need for a wing shooter/scorer that we've lacked since Stephen Jackson left us four years ago. Al doesn't fit us one bit, and Hendo has needed to be upgraded for a while. It's all a matter of fit. You guys would absolutely be getting the best player in the deal if Al stays in shape, but after a point, we just needed to move on from him. Everyone in the deal expires next summer, so we risk absolutely nothing and the payoff could be huge- likely for both teams.

do you guys think the hornets would realistically entertain that?

if so i love the fit for the nets. JJ is currently my favorite net, but having played the 5th most minutes in the league last year and the 2nd most the last 10 years and turning 34 i dont see his decline stopping or reversing. I dont think henderson is an upgrade to him or anything special, but for us, we need guys who care. we need guys who play hard semi regularly. and we dont get that from joe(or really anyone outside of alan anderson and jack). so henderson seems like a guy who helps in that regard.

I like al jefferson backing up brook since it looks like plumlee will be traded with #29 to move up to try and get wright or harrell. Brook and Al seem somewhat similar as half court bigs who need touches. so some synergy between 1st and second units.

if you guys really want jj and to move those 2 i think its a good fit on both sides

Part of the reason Nets fans didn't like JJ was stamina. He was overworked due to their poor depth. If he plays SG here he'd have PJ, Daniels and a draft pick backing him, not to mention Mo Williams as a combo guard.

Neither player makes his teammates better. JJ would by default for his spacing alone. Kemba and MKG really need that space to slash and drive.

And since the Nets FO has already said that this season is a "bridge year" I don't think they care about players who can make other players better lol.

The one thing I will say about JJ is that he looked tired for most of the season. Idk if it was just frustration but he didn't provide that much production offensively.

He still has the ability to play point-forward from the high-post a la LBJ (of course only to a certain degree) and pass to the open man or back down his guy for a layup.

It's always been tough for him as a Net because he and Brook excel at two different play styles so it was extremely rare to see both of them have a good game. I think your play style might fit him better than ours did for him.
