i'd like to aspire for something a little better than biz as our future starting center. i want offense from all 5 positions. but i hope he keeps playing well so he can be our backup center for the next decade.

I've always had hope that he would be.

Never off the bandwagon for a second.

Biz is 99.99 percent not going to be Dwight Howard but if he can be a more athletic Theo Ratliff then I'm all for it.

We'd be better than we currently are with prime Ratliff over Al imo, big call I know.

Bis has the highest per on the team (21.92), Per 36 min he is averaging 12 pts 15 rebounds and 5 blocks.

His line in 12 mpg: 4.3 pts 5.5 rebounds 1.8 blocks 0.8 turnovers

Maxiel in 12 mgp: 2.6 pts, 1.9 rebounds 0.3 blocks 0.5 turnovers

Maxiel per 36 is averaging 7.7 pts 5.7 rebounds and 1 block

Clifford shat the bed by playing Max over Biyombo to start the season. We have a 4-9 record which makes us one of the worst teams in the league while Orlando and Milwaukee are sitting in playoff spots.

Clifford should have seen this coming. Biyombo put up better numbers last year too. Despite Biyombo's above average play Maxiel is still seeing the floor. Biz is still seeing inconsistent minutes when he should be seeing 20 min every game.

The guy has 6 blocks in 12 min and he is 9th on the team in minutes for the game at Orlando. If a player is blocking shots like that a good coach would leave him out there for more then 12 min. Clifford probably advised the front office not to extend him over the summer and is worried about looking like a dumb ass if Bis plays well.

With so many of our games decided by one or two shots, the upgrade to Biz over Maxiel very likely could have made the difference in the ones we lost.

Humble yourself, Clifford!

Amen to that.

What is Clifford thinking?

I wonder if Clifford will argue against Cho re-signing Biz in the offseason. I could definitely see a smart team like the Mavs/Spurs picking him up for $5m per year as a specialist. He'd probably look great and everyone would be like "lol, Bobcats"

Biz is one of the few guys on our roster that does something at a quantitatively elite level. While I can certainly understand not making him a QO for next year I can also easily see us letting him leave and having him make a Chandleresque impact on some other team out there a couple of years down the road.

Seems like Clifford wants somebody who can be an Al lite at backup C for some reason instead of embracing Biz and trying to maximize his strengths. Seems bizarre to me for us to be having a Maxiell vs Biz discussion.

is biz still in that weird conundrum where clifford refuses to let him be on the court the same time as jefferson?

We have literally NEVER seen them on the court at the same time. Not even a second.

Biz has played well since being freed, whatever Cliff's deal was with him worked, maybe we need to try it with others?

We did for a minute last season, can't remember which game.

They looked good too!

I am glad for you guys that Biz is getting some run. I have always thought he was an NBA level defender/rebounder. From a Celtics fan perspective I am more than a little disappointed. I hoped we could somehow steal from you. He would fit really well in Boston. All of the traits he possess' we as a team lack.

Just as a thought exercise who on our roster would you be interested in ?

In closing, just want you to know I come in peace. I am a lifelong C's fan, but I live in the Carolina's and follow the Hornets through SportsSouth and RealGM. I am going to the game Dec. 10th in Charlotte, section 116). I will be rooting, (quietly), for the Celts but the rest of the season I always pull for the Hornets.

He doesn't have enough value to warrant trading him. You would laugh at any price we asked.

I may be going to that game as well probably upper deck though

Your 2015 1st round pick.

How about Marcus Thornton and Philly's protected #1, (in reality 2 high 2nd round picks). I think Thornton would be a nice fit. He can score, has played passable D, and is an expiring contract, (8 million). I have looked at your salary cap situation and it seems you can absorb the extra salary.

I could also substitute Brandon Bass for Thornton. He is also a decent fit. He is a six million dollar expiring. All 3 players are flawed, but have value.

No thanks. Biz provides more than either of those guys and that pick is not very valuable due to protection.
