would you guys do hendo/roberts/jefferson for dwill and our #29 pick?

I'd do Hendo + Big Al + Roberts for Dwill + Plumlee + 29.

WHAT.

Why would you even joke about taking on Williams' contract? I'd rather sit through the exact same roster and let them expire next summer than have to watch Williams' bum ass eat $20M plus in the offseason where we're supposed to really improve the team.

Joe johnson is the king of killing the shot clock with his mark jackson like 12 second back downs in the post.

and we dont have any players to inspire. the guys we have are lost causes, dogs, and the biggest pansies in the league. we need guys who play hard, not to inspire others to play hard. KG and piece couldnt get these guys inspired... no one will. we will suck next year no matter what, id prefer to do it with 5 guys who care. Jack | Anderson | Henderson | Thad | Brook gives us 4 guys who will play hard and a center who will at least score efficiently.

Oh man, I thought JJ was better at recognizing double teams and passing out of traffic.

he is... but sometimes it takes im 8 or 9 dribbles to back his man in before that double comes. his post game is top notch. scoring and passing. you will grow to enjoy that part of his game for sure.

3 years lines up with Curry perfectly. We're not doing diddly in the meantime.

the hornets, I don't know. Half this board would probably break their mouse trying to click the accept button.

To be fair though, half the board would also dump Al for a similar expiring that was guaranteed not to play if they could.

Can we please make the Al + Hendo = JJ trade. I nominate Ichiro as GM by proxy...... let's do this.

The front office takes baby steps so I don't anticipate any paradigm shift. Al and Hendo are fan-friendly players and they're part of the rebrand. Year 2 of the relaunch of the Hornets is still early and the front office views them as stabilizing forces. It was Lance they wanted to move for JJ last year.

They're slow.

They lose McRoberts and replace him 1 year later with Hawes.

They pass up Mo for Brian Roberts only to trade for Mo halfway through the season.

They tried to trade Hendo then signed him for 3 years, then tried to trade him again.

As far as we know (from Zach Lowe's sources) they were willing to talk turkey on every except Al (and Kemba).

They should have been more motivated to move these 2 a long time ago but they didn't, because they're slow.

so in terms of impact, he's Al Jefferson who can create his own shot with the best of them but does it from the perimeter and can pass.

Sold. Brooklyn re-signing Brook Lopez is probably the only thing keeping this deal from happening in real life IMO. (and Billy King going full (Please Use More Appropriate Word)).

He is just the PF version of Al jefferson with better handle and some range. he isnt a perimeter player. you can try and make him one, but he is going to disappear if you dont get him a ton of post touches and mid post isos. weve wanted him to be a catch and shoot floor spacer since he got here. maybe it will work better for you but 4 coaches here couldnt get him to do it.

It sounds like Eric Gordon (for Big Al) is a much better fit than JJ and I don't think we can fit both here at our one open position. Again I doubt our front office moves Al or Hendo.

BTW my original post was not intended just to slight Booker. The point was that this team looks likely to draft a SG next week, and Hendo being back pushes the draftee further down the playing chart (Hendo, PJ, Daniels...). Who are we going to draft at 9 that is going to come in and take PT from the incumbents and make any kind of impact? Booker will be 18 when the NBA season starts. Do you see Clifford playing him? Last year with Vonleh getting no PT was frustrating! I'm not looking forward to another callow draft pick that doesn't play for a year.

Id probably prefer Gordon. I don't think New Orleans would want Al though.

They might be persuaded to take Henderson and Williams for him. They lack depth at the forward positions and while losing Gordon's shooting would hurt (especially in Gentry's system) they'd make up for it on the defensive side of the ball which is where they need more help (especially on the perimeter).

Kemba/Roberts
Hendo/PJ/pick
MKG/Daniels
Zeller/Marv/Vonleh
Al/Biz

De ja vu.

With the way Gentry values D'Antoni ball I agree, Gordon is likely going to be featured pretty heavily in the system he rolls out.

It's a healthy exercise and a pleasant fantasy to imagine otherwise, but I think we're stuck with the same roster as last year which was a colossal failure. It's inexcusable for Cho. Subtraction of Lance won't move the needle.

De ja vu.

Except for Lance, Maxiell, and Taylor not being around, and Hawes and Daniels both being additions since last season started, and this is assuming we don't use our MLE or make any more moves in the offseason, that Biz is still around, and that we cut Barnes and replace him with no one.

Lots of assumptions.
