my feel-o-meter ranking 1 to 10, with 5 being nba average. zero stats used, just my gut

shooting? - 4/10
passing? - 5/10
creation? - 5/10
rim pressure? - 6/10
ft rate? - 6/10
1v1 def? - 5/10
help def? - 4/10
leadership? - 5/10

other:
this is wild isolation, points per possession, miles is 0.45. that's hilariously bad
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/isolation?dir=A&sort=PPP

pull ups at 28% efg . of players attempting 2 or more per game, miles is almost dead last
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/pullup?CF=PULL_UP_FGA*G*2&dir=A&sort=PULL_UP_EFG_PCT

Yeah Miles seems to step it up when he’s the clear Robin to Melo’s Batman. Or when he and Miller were the dynamic duo. But the three together haven’t found the chemistry…seems Miles isn’t as assertive in that scenario. Or is it just his mood, where his life is at relative to motivation? In his Mavs post game interview he talked about having had a good day spending time with his kids, and being in a good mood.

We’d love to have THIS Miles all the time. He has skills and ability to be a strong 3rd or 4th option on a playoff team…at least on offense. His defense remains questionable.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He looked good yesterday. He's been better as he loses weight. Face is way more sculpted then in November and being thinner definitely helps his game.

I hadn't noticed that, but if so, good observation. Makes a lot of sense.

This is a player who when still playing on his rookie scale contract tested 50/40/90.

Those players earn north of his current deal, which declines to 25 million next year, 22 million the year after.

Hornets have every right to stick with him until some team submits a compelling bid. He could be a big contributor to a playoff run next season.

So, I predict he survives the deadline.

I was on board with potentially moving miles at the deadline a few weeks ago. Think the Miller injury changes everything. I don't see any way that miles is moved before the summer. Melo and Mark need minutes And it's best if those minutes come in a functional offense. There's just no way we can survive losing another offensive weapon right now. That would just devolve into melo going back to shooting 35 shots every night. and that's not good for any one.

If I'm the Hornets I'm completely removing miles from any potential trade discussions unless somebody comes with a really good offer.

Glad to see Miles rounding back to form, just hope he's really put it all behind him. Remember really rooting for him to keep improving and get PAID.

I wonder if his defense would be betterif he played SF? If they could get a versatile PF like Flagg or Markkanen he might fit the roster better if moved to SF.

Agree he’d fit best there offensively. But his defense would suffer more having to guard even quicker 3’s.

Thats possible, but I think the lack of size/length and rim protection that comes with playing him at PF is a bigger issue. I guess my thinking is more that the team defense could improve with him at SF more so than his individual defense. Its more about what we would potentially gain at PF.

its hard to imagine now but there was a time when he was supposed to be our 4th/5th scorer and not the focal point of the offense

The thread title was changed to that earlier this season starting at this post - viewtopic.php?p=115387798#p115387798

Think it was supposed to be a slight because he was not performing particularly well earlier this season.

Definitely due for an update.
