Plumlee is fine in a 12 minute a game role to move the ball and get rebounds. Pretty strong too.
If Diabate and Kalk can handle 10-16 minutes each all 3 guys should play some.

If you look hard at the number from last year Plumlee is slightly better than Moussa. They pretty much rebound at the same rate, and get blocks and steals at the same rate. Plumlee is slightly more efficient and a much better passer.

A Plumlee/Moussa/Kalk rotation problaby makes the most sense to start the season and then injury and play can dictate minutes and who starts.

Scoot Henderson going down is making us seem genius for signing up all the pgs lol. If somebody wants to trade for Sexton or Dimwiddie I am going to need a first and a prospect, lol. How amazing would it be to trade for Nurk for Sexton and a 2nd and then turn around and trade Sexton for a first.

I take any and all pre-camp “observations” with a truckload of salt. I hope for a lot of things. A photo is shown of Melo seated and people claim he looks like he’s added a lot of muscle. Cause his arms look like there is some curve at the bicep? Now somebody is saying he’s matured.

OK…I certainly HOPE so on all this. But let’s see how this really plays out from camp into the regular season. Remember when Rozier very publicly organized a bunch of the players to workout together ahead of camp? Man that got me excited for a much better season! How far did it take them?

I’m gonna see what plays out, and how these guys actually produce.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Before the season starts let me make this clear.

If we aren't competitive for a playoff spot this year I think we need to seriously consider blowing up this core and starting fresh. Melo/Bridges specifically. If these guys can't lead this group then they never will. These are the alphas and they must get serious about winning.

Hopefully they prove us right.

What do you mean "these are the alphas"?

The main core players. The foundation started with them. Miles in his prime years, Melo is entering his prime. Time to see some positive results.

This rebuild around LaMelo stuff is getting old. He's our best player lead us to success.

I'm honestly surprised that anyone thinks Miles is a foundational or core player over Brandon. Yes he's been here longer, but I doubt anyone (including the coaching staff and FO) thinks he's more important than Brandon.

I don't really understand your comment about rebuilding around LaMelo. Are you suggesting that we've been trying to win? Because I think intentionally blowing the team up to rebuild again is actually what would be old.

Some of these takes turned out surprisingly accurate. :o

Hey, when your at the bottom there is only one direction to go. Its hard for me to believe we have less talent on the roster than the pistons. I think we at least switch places with them.

Just so I'm clear, you think the Hornets jump from 19 wins to "at least" 44 and/or the 6th seed?

I think LaMelo is better than Cade

Miles Bridges and Tobias are close

Brandon Miller plus Kon are better than any of the young players they have.

If we finish worse than the pistons we should fire the coach.

We should probably win at least 47 games and get the 3rd seed considering the injuries to tatum and Haliburtin. If we don’t,…. time to fire the coach. (And gm)

Walt Cronkite wrote:Not a Pistons fan so I don't have their offseason moves memorized and don't care enough to check them, but, my feel-o-meter calibration indicates that a number of the veteranish players that they had during their hard to explain improvement have left and not been replaced, so they should likely be worse than 44 wins/6th seed.

Anyway, my expectation is that the Hornets challenge for the play-in and are mostly healthy. They don't have to actually be a top 10 team in the East by the end, they just need to show enough competence that for more than less of the season that possibility is within striking distance.

Snidely FC wrote:The roster has enough talent to win 40 games

The main reason I am pessimistic is Charles Lee hasn’t shown he knows how to play them together.

If they share the ball the way SL team did look out.

If it’s still individual high usage and hunting 3s then hold your nose

JDR720 wrote:It all depends on Melo and Brandon. We have enough offensive talent to make the playin or maybe the 6th seed if we're healthy, and Lee can figure it out.

Chapelchilla wrote:Playing actual NBA level guys 2 deep gets us at least 10 more wins. I think 20 more wins is a realistic outcome. Much more then that will require good health, young players quick development, adaptable coaching and a trade for a difference maker.

Low end/we are outright tanking outcome - 25 wins, mid range "trying to get better but not maximizing" outcome - 35 wins, high end range with addition(s) - 45 wins.

Diop wrote:If the team doesn't perform well, I think the front office will shop LaMelo pretty hard. I don't think they are sold on him as the star player and crap bigs or not, they will move him if it's not working.

That's my early prediction. I lean towards wanting to keep him as he is clearly the most talented, but I get it if they can't get consistent play out of him
