What happened? I thought you led a revolt at UNCC and got the situation changed last year.

My revolt was with the on-campus tv provider, I moved into an apartment this year that doesn't have any fox sports channels :nonono:

That's strange. Is the cable thru TWC? Is it in your name or controlled by the university? I would have thought that anyone with cable in Charlotte would at least have the option to receive the Fox Sports channels. Sorry, that sucks.

Our small breweries have started to make some nice IPAs these past years. Some good stuff there, they seem to be the most well-regarded among Latvian beers. Really like them. I also quite enjoy wheat beer and spice beer, creative stuff like that.

On an ordinary day, when I'm not hunting down craft beer (although some microbreweries are available in such supermarkets) and am buying bottled beer in an everyday supermarket, there are decent Latvian dunkels and pale lagers to get. Usually those will be the styles I'll buy and, perhaps, some kind of wheat beer.

What about you? I assume that IPAs are popular in the USA among snobs.

By the way, what I find odd about Southern/Western Europe is that you can't buy decent beer in a store. All that is there is commercial beer. Or, for that matter, we and the Scandinavians seem to have a culture of buying groceries in these humongous supermarkets. Countries like, I don't know, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany mostly have these small stores where there isn't much to choose from. I don't understand where they get their groceries.

For a relatively poor country though we are kind of fastidious when it comes to buying stuff.

Elauwit is our provider and they use some form of dish network that looks like twc, but the tv is controlled by the apartment complex. Probably just the cheapest thing they could find to keep a bigger wad in their pockets

That sucks. Well, at least its only the road games you have to worry about, since you have season tix. Plus, with Lin on board this year there will be more high quality streams than ever.

Not sure what is going on with ballstreams. I hope they get that sorted out.

Congrats on the apartment.

watching the MLS game on ESPN during the Panthers halftime, the MLS has improved a good bit this season with some of the recent signings.

David Villa
Andrea Pirlo
Giovani Dos Santos
Steven Gerrard
Frank Lampard
Kaka
Sebastian Giovinco
Didier Drogba

need to get some young guys though, too many of them are close to retirement.

I still dont watch much MLS, compared to all the other soccer I watch, but its awesome seeing all those legends playing over here. I know Drogba and Giovinco have been brilliant this year.

If only the USMNT wasnt so damn disappointing.

My lone fantasy draft of the year is about to start. I've got the 19th pick out of 20... again...

I was sitting here thinking the only way that a 20-team league would be remotely fair to those that didnt land Lebron, Curry, Durant, Harden or Westbrook would be to have big rosters and larger starting requirements, to at least dilute the starting lineups and help those that have depth vs top tier talent. But based on your roster, it seems the rosters are rather small. Massive advantage to those drafted at the top.

or to have the snake draft repeat the 2nd round draft order for the 3rd round before moving back to the original draft order in the 4th round.

so someone would have picks 1.20, 2.1 and 3.1, instead of 1.20, 2.1 and 3.20.

Or make it an auction draft. Even playing field for everyone.

No question, it's the third time in a row I've drafted after #15. I've gotten shafted every year lol

Surprisingly KD and LeBron went #5 and #6 :o

We're only playing seven players per night (down from nine in previous years)

You may be surprised to here that NC is actually an excellent beer state, and Charlotte itself now has something like 10 - 12 breweries in it, with 5 - 6 additional breweries in towns surrounding the city. Nearly every local brewery feels obliged to have IPAs and probably the most popular beer in Charlotte is called Hop Drop 'N Roll by a brewery named NoDa Brewing Company, which is a style we in the US call a "West coast style" that is less balanced and has a more aggressive hop character. There is starting to be a nice diversity of styles though, with some emphasizing styles like farmhouses / saisons and Belgians, and there is one brewery (the biggest in CLT) that brews by the German purity law.

I'm surprised that IPAs are so big where you are, I thought that was more of a US thing.

I'm personally a big fan of darker beers like stouts and porters, and also of Belgians. I've also become a very big fan of sours.

Think they moved the thread back to the Panthers board, guessing it has something to do with that.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
