He has serious problems, but they support him and keep him focused on basketball. Miles did not take the loss of JB well. He brought some perceived stability. This is why Atkinson withdrew and D'Antoni said no thanks. Clifford is going to have to rebuild the clubhouse, but none of this was hidden from him. Coach seems eager to win and make the playoffs.
We aint making the playoffs lol
We have no room to improve our team and our 2nd most important player, who averaged 20/7 btw, is looking at a long suspension and has mental/drug issues
It's a big loss, but a temporary one, and he will need it to reset his career. If he's not doping he should return hitting close to 40% from three. He needs to stop dicking around with his agency. The pressure is getting to him. He is just a man not a superhero. He needs to drop the side act and put in the work.
If there is a long term loss, then we should be thinking about internal solutions for a number 2 scorer.
And I hate to pour salt on your cereal, but I nominate James Bouknight as candidate to grow into a #2 scorer the way Miles did, a #1 scorer so that Miles can settle into a more complementary role where not every missed shot and big game loss falls on his shoulders in his head.
Bouknight is a UConn guy. We Yankees are tougher than you realize. And Clifford is a Yankee. So is Mitch. Hate hate hate all you want.
