I just don’t see them moving Hayward for a variety of reasons. And I’m really not sold on Myles Turner being worth what it’ll take to get him.

I think we do move him. Melo and Bridges have great chemistry. Hayward played well but the FO is probably going to be aggressive knowing they have a future superstar in Ball. Hayward is blocking the development of Bridges and Turner fits our biggest need. I just hope we don’t give up picks.

In the last two weeks alone, there has been articles published saying we have reached out to or have interest in:
Harrell
Noel
Allen
Holmes
Turner
Writing an article about us and a centre is just low hanging fruit at this point and much of it feels like conjecture to me.
I mean isn’t it the front offices job to “reach out” and “have interest” in anyone and everyone who could improve the team. If they didn’t I’d be pissed. They should be exploring all options, I guess the media gotta write something.

[Fischer] Both the Hornets and Pacers, the two Eastern Conference play-in teams who did not advance, would seemingly have interest in moving their picks at Nos. 11 and 13, respectively.
This isn't a statement of fact. It is his opinion.
Just another "low hanging fruit" article.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Well, we are also linked to wanting to trade our #11, so instead of Turner, what about Reddish? A soon-to-be-22 year old wing that could be a long-term piece of our puzzle. Not sure if ATL would make a trade like this within the division, but other than the Pels, I don't see a team offering them a higher first rounder than us.
Straight away sign Holmes in FA and roll with -
Ball
Reddish
Hayward
Miles
Holmes

Would you feel better if Moody/Boughknight/Johnson were all selected prior to our spot? Just curious if you're a wing or big man guy at 11.

I just don't think Reddish is a very good basketball player
And he's going to be due an extension 3 years earlier than whoever we draft, shortening LaWindow.
I'd rather draft any of Bouknight, Moody, or Keon before trading it for Reddish

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
People are still in love with the idealized vision of Cam Reddish and not what he actually is. And why would we help out a division rival? They can't pay all of their rookies, so why wouldn't we just offer Huerter/Reddish a contract knowing that the Hawks can't afford to match and keep our draft picks?
We're going to have to start paying our guys too, no reason to compound the problem AND give up cost controlled players while helping a team we're competing against.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
The salary part makes sense...didn't really think of that. For me, I really want Moody, Boughknight or Johnson at 11, but feel like at least Moody and Boughknight will go top-10. I also want Holmes for our big man vacancy, so leaning more away from Jones/Seguin....though Jones is probably even for me with K.Johnson at 11 based on who would be available.
I personally still like Reddish, though his injuries are a concern. I get a little Ingram/Jaylen Brown "a few years to develop" vibe from Reddish.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
He probably still has first round value, but definitely nowhere close to the slot he was initially drafted at (#10)
If we had an early 2nd/late 1st, I think it would be a worthy gamble

Reddish has been terrible ever since he was at Duke, some of the worst shooting numbers in the entire NBA. I do not get the current fascination with him at all.

We have guys in here saying they wouldn't trade 11 for Wiseman
For reference

I mean, I would definitely have to think about it. I never got the Wiseman hype as he was like 7th on my big board, and his rookie year definitely didn't do much to alleviate some of the very troubling aspects of his game. There will probably definitely be players at 11 that I'd rather have going forwards than Wiseman.

As a Duke fan and more than casual observer, I have high criticism for Cam Reddish mainly because he acts entitled. He's more of a knucklehead than an A-lister, though, and he should've stayed in school.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Lots of fans posting Hayward trade talk, but can we all take a minute to think back to how well we played when he was healthy? I’m for it if we find a way to upgrade in a meaningful way, but trading him risks our free agency perception to other free agents and removes a guy who provided a calm and steady offensive option when we really needed a bucket. I’d hate to move him just because we are worried he’ll keep getting hurt or because of his contract given all of that.
