Clippers MKG trade with the 76ers

Clippers get: MKG
76ers get: Jamal Crawford, Brice Johnson, Diamond Stone and 1st round pick (from Clippers)
Chartlotte gets: Nerlens Noel, Covington and 2nd round pick (from 76ers)

Why for Clippers? Finally get the SF they need and dont really lose anything.
Why for 76ers? Get prospects and a pick for someone they dont really need and they tried to sign Jamal. If that is too many bigs, can swap out one of them for Anderson or Felton and take out the 2nd round pick.
Why for Charlotte? Get the future Center and a good/young/cheap shooter.

then we can trade Hibbert or Hawes for another wing. we can cut one of the bench bums to make room.

Omri Casspi and Malachi Richardson for Hawes and 2nd round pick

we get a SF/PF to fill in for Marv (and MKG when he gets hurt), Richardson is there for salary purposes. Kings get a larger expiring contract (Hawes will opt out) who is a pretty good fit and a 2nd round pick.

I think Hawes burned bridges the last time he was in Sacto, FWIW.

I'm okay with this. One injury prone guy for another, plus a decent wing. Not a good look for Cho's drafting ability if we trade a former #2 pick for a guy we could've drafted instead of Zeller but whatevs. Not optimistic about Clifford's ability to utilize a raw on offense big man after his mismanagement of Bismack though.

Hawes has bad history with Sacramento, they won't take him

Don't like Covington at all. Every time I've watched him he's seemed like a very low BBIQ relentless chucker.

I'm disappointed in MKG so far, but don't want to get rid of him without a young prospect in return. WCS is not that guy.

biggest ?s for me regarding charlotte are would we be ok paying Hayward a huge deal (probably bigger than Nics) and having basically no good perimeter defense.

For me personally, yes I'd be willing to pay him a huge deal. I think he'd be a great addition to the team. As far as perimeter defense, I don't think Hayward is a terrible defender. Plus, Cliff has shown enough that he can create defensive schemes to help the team excel.

Anywho, trying to come up with a deal taking into mind the feedback I received is a bit tough. The only other thing I can come up with is a deal between CHA-NO-UTAH with the bones being:

CHA receives: Hayward
NO receives: MKG
UTAH receives: Hield, Evans

Even then, I'm not sure this is something the Jazz consider.

Have been looking all over teams for potential trades, but nobody is really in a great place to make a trade as if today. Also, feel like we have very few expendable assets right now in terms of trade value.

Not a huge fan of trading our draft pick in back to back years and basically 3/4 since we traded Vonleh. You always need new youth added to your team.

If we do decide to trade it we need to find a way to hold off, that way we can ensure we are at least a playoff team. If we traded our pick now and Kemba went down we would be screwed and have nothing to be happy about.

Best hope would be to trade Hibby and Sessions for a combo guard in a month.

Lou williams doesn't seem very likely as lakers are actually winning and have no incentive to lose.

Brandon Knight may require a first.

Maybe see what it would take to get MCW or Alec Burks

Ok, I decided to take a stab at it again, this time with different teams. Coming up with a deal and teams that makes sense has been difficult. I spent an embarrassingly long time trying to come up with a deal before I landed on this one.

Hornets trade: MKG
Hornets receive: Hayward

Jazz trade: Hayward
Jazz receive: Crowder, Covington, Nets 1st

Celtics trade: Crowder, Bradley, Nets 1st
Celtics receive: Noel, MKG

76ers trade: Noel, Covington
76ers receive: Bradley

Jazz: Maybe
Celtics: Too steep I think
Sixers: Oh yeah.

Ultimately I don't think we trade any of the core 6 this season (7 if Lamb keeps it up)

Looks like Exum just got a DNP coaches decision, I wonder if we can snaffle him.

Marco's white and they like white guys don't they?

Would you swap Frank for Dante? A shooting 4 might be handy next to Favors/Gobert

I doubt the Jazz has given up on Exum.

On a side note, would you do a Lamb/Hibbert + filler vs Mahinmi (once eligible) ?

The wizards made some moves this summer out of panic, Mahinmi's contract makes no sense in their roster (especially if they dream about cousins). They also need a decent wing player to complement porter.

It makes sense for the Hornets as it brings toughness inside the key either from the bench or from the start. Also it adds a big who is good in pnr (he was developed as a 4) and average to decent in offense (good in transition and on his midrange open jumper). His contract is not that big, and he could be movable in the middle term to regain some flexibility.
And you fill the roster with a 3D player.

edit : typos

Sessions and our 2017 1st round pick?

I'd love Exum backing up Kemba.

I asked a jazz fan and was told this about Exum

he started to be less timid on offense, and attack the basket more, and quin snyder said that "he needs to stick to his role and play defense" so now he's kind of in the dog house, which is v v upsetting

So I guess he might be just getting some tough love for now.

Oh the Aussie conspiracy...

And one thing for sure, you are not gonna get Hayward for MKG straight up :nonono:
