Need to bring him back. He's worth it, and will bring a lot of winning basketball plays to the table. Clifford will like him a lot.

I know it seems like that, but a decent amount of teams haven't done anything
Celtics
Pacers
Warriors
Spurs
Jazz
Hawks haven't signed anyone- Did trade for Murray
Pelicans haven't signed anyone- gave Zion extension
Most of those teams have made major moves now one way or the other while the Horncats FO are still holding their d***s.
It goes to show the disdain the players in the NBA have for this franchise and its coaching/management/ownership that literally no one wants to sign here for two off-seasons in a row.
We only get the sloppy seconds no one else wants if we are lucky. Kupcake might need to go if we can find some FO personnel desirable to the players around the league.

The Hornets are the only remaining team that have yet to make a transaction the last few days (besides QO's and options)
Honestly hard to blame them with Miles punching the organization in the balls 24 hours before the madness

From what I understand we are under the cap and don't have the MLE, but I could he wrong. If we do have the MLE right now, I really don't understand why they didn't use it.
I guess Mitchell Robinson signed above. Nets had Claxton restricted. Tyus Jones signed well above. Nurkic got 17.5 per over 4 yrs. Then you have some like Kyle Anderson who maybe preferred other destinations like the Wolves with their mortgage on Rudy Gobert. Overpaid guys like Delon Wright (16/2) and trade targets like Dort (18) don't fit the budget.
But Kupchak could've used it on Hartenstein who signed for less to be a backup when he could've started here.
Maybe the trade market is preferable right now since the rebuilding Pacers and Spurs won't be paying raises to Turner or Poeltl.
It has been written...

Back to Thing #1...
While he hasn't re-signed with us yet, at least he hasn't signed with anyone else either.

Re: Thing #1: The Cody Martin Thread
How many playoff contenders still have their MLE?
I maintain that we are bringing him back, but at the end of free agency so we can do other deals first and operate below the cap

Probably worried that whoever is signed will retire from the NBA the next morning or something.

Well deserved, he's the second Mitch guy drafted in the 2nd to get another contract. Pretty good chance McDaniels will get one too (although probably not from us).

That's bang for the buck. I hope Cody keeps on improving.

Hope he keeps developing. Didn't think we would bring him back and for so long. It's fine. Could be really good if good shooting continues.

Pretty good value relative to some contracts given out so far this free agency.

I like it a lot. Signed him through his young prime at a very fair price. Works hard and may even get better yet.

Re: Thing #1: The Cody Martin Thread (re-signs @ 4/$32m)
I always forget how old Thing #1 and Thing #2 are for 3-year players... Cody turns 27 during training camp, can't believe he's older than Oubre
Cody will be 30 in year 4 of this deal, so we've basically got him for his prime
