For a comparison, our Lord and Savior Mason Plumlee shoots 5.3 shots per game in 22mins for his career. So Green has the same shot volume as Plumlee does, but with fewer FT attempts. (Plum shoots 3 per game).

I stopped watching pretty early in the season but whenever I checked the box scores I swear dude was putting up like 5 points or less in 90% of the games while also getting around 30 minutes. Guy shouldn't be playing anything more than third string minutes

We won’t miss him at all. Why would we? He was outplayed by Jeffries and Okogie, neither of whom had guaranteed contracts last year.
I am not exaggerating here: he was the worst offensive player in the NBA last season statistically. Horrible, boring, wretched player. I cannot believe Jeff Peterson thought adding him and his $14m/year contract to the team was a good idea. Just a blatantly indefensibly awful trade for a horrendous, useless player.

I don't really have an issue with Jeff Peterson taking a swing on Josh Green. It didn't work out, or at least so far. But these are the types of Swings that sometimes you have to make. At the time of the trade last year Green was like 23 years old? Coming off of a solid role on a finals team. He had showed enough in that time to think that he could keep growing his game into the 3D Wing that everyone covets. His usage rate in Dallas seemed to be a lot higher. And he seemed to be a little more involved in the offense. For whatever reason he just disappeared last year when we needed him the most. And the defense wasn't as good as advertised. It was a swing and a miss. But it was a swing that I completely understand taking. What we can't do is continue to guarantee him minutes at the expense of other people on the roster. He doesn't have a toxic contract And is young enough and does possess valuable skills that should at least make him a net neutral and a matching salary situation.

Was he supposed to be a wing defender because he’s not big enough to consistently fill that role
If he’s meant to be a poa defender have they already drafted his replacement in Sion James?

If he's neutral I'd be shocked. That contract should cost a first round pick to move.
With Liam McNeeley showing so much promise, I just cannot fathom pulling a Clifford, playing someone with a fleeting future here ahead of a first round prospect, just to shave win margins because the more experienced player makes fewer mistakes. Sucks for the owners who have to pay his checks, and for the fans who want a better player for the money, but there's no excuse to play him based on his paycheck. Glue this mofo to the bench.

Green would be a safe option for a competing team, he is low risk with solid %.
you won't get big games out of him often/ever, but you won't get a ton of costly mistakes either
