Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
As much as i like him, Bogdan is already 28 and it makes no sense to sign him on a heavy contract (which he deserves) considering Hornet's best bet would be to hit the lottery for the next couple of seasons to land some Kuminga/Bates or alike prospect.
Even if Bogdan was here, he would not turn this team into a contender (thanks Mr Obvious i know).
Hopefully Kupchak can sell patience to MJ and alike and keeps piling on assets - like trading expiring for prospects who are stuck in a bad environnement and could bounce back here -. I just hope he can sell high on Miles before Miles begins to play like crap again for a while.
It would be dumb to screw team's flexibility before they can land some true future franchise player.

Thats pretty genius,

Understand this take and makes sense, except we MUST have a key player who can score! That is not guaranteed coming out of college at any level, even with the #1 pick. The other issue we have is that no free agents of any magnitude sign in Charlotte. We would have to have to sign a true star to an enormous overpay to get them here, if then. Get someone here in a trade and reward them appropriately (unlike the mistake with Batum who didn’t deserve his deal). Would need to be sure we had confidence in being able to re-sign. I see a player like BB being a key part of a success run after adding a high lotto pick this offseason. Graham is our future PG but he will be a free agent in a couple years. Gotta convince these guys to stay.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Except, I don't think the Hornets have their 2nd this year. We do have the Cavs 2nd that will be very high in the 2nd

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Unless the Celtics collapse, i dont see how the Hornets would not have their 2nd this year. As desperate as they are, it might be enough for the rockets. And anyway Zeller has a real value he definitely fits this Houston team and D'Antoni.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Pretty sure the reason the Rockets moved Capela was to get out of the tax so they aren't going to be looking to add on any contracts.
They have like ~5 mil in space before going back into the tax, so word is they will probably look to add a buyout center.

The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
The odd team in that big trade was certainly Denver, who are presumably trying to make a run this year but punted some quality depth pieces in favor of a first round pick from Houston. Seems pretty clear they'll try to flip that for help this season.
With several injuries at PF, and some underwhelming backup options at guard, I wonder if a Marvin + Monk combo may entice them out of that Houston pick. We could take back the expiring deals of Plumlee and Craig to make it work.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Trade that makes most sense to me is:
Marvin Williams for Courtney Lee & Justin Jackson. This gives us another young piece to try out for a year and see if there's any potential. Dallas gets a veteran presence to help them in the playoffs.
We might have to throw in a 2nd rounder depending on how much value Marvin carries around the league. I don't think we've helped much this year by playing him so sparingly.

Cody. Willy. Biz.
Could we be one of the eastern conference teams the Rockets are talking to?

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
With Memphis' acquisition of Winslow, maybe Josh Jackson can be obtained for peanuts. I believe he can play the 2-spot and he'll get to reunite with Graham.

Looks like kings intend to keep Bogi and resign him to a big contract which was helped by ditching dedmon.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
So Charlotte probably won’t make any drastic moves which isnt terrible and is a positive sign that mj aint panicking yet.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Yes it would appear there is nothing yet on the trade front, but I suspect something is still likely with Marvin involved. Sad that the league has zero interest in The Artist formerly known as Batum. Yes, that sad sack of French fraud is all caught up with how he creates elegant spacing or “unique” passes....(“turnovers are not my fault when no one on the court understands my genius”). I never thought we’d have a more screwed up player as overpaid as Diaw was...silly me.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

If the Warriors would take that trade I think I would rather keep Russell. He could play with both Graham and Monk as a decent fit and is a better shooter.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Cody makes about $4.5M less, so if they're close to that number he could make some sense there.
