^^^ making history as a tandem already. Let's keep it going! Let teams freak out over them, insert Tre Mann and let him slash and slay. Even if it's Martin or Green these 2 budding stars can dominate a good defense.

The good thing is they both genuinely like each other. That's big for 2 young potential stars. No ego's.

I wouldn't trade Miller for Giannis.

I love seeing Brandon shining like this, and he’s not even hitting close to his potential yet. His breakout this year may more closely resemble the one Wemby had last year and then some.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

This is the play sequence that deflated the Pacers.

They never recovered.

Full game highlights from Brandon. The killer play above goes back further in the possession.

I just love his shooting form and motion. It's a beautiful shot.

Miller needs to work on his ball handling skills. He doesn't seem comfortable with the ball in his hands for more than 3 seconds. For this team to take the next step he has to help Melo with creating his own shots. Right now he's just a catch n shoot scorer.

Cmon Miller we need you to step your game up this season!

Feel a bit of envy for Toronto right now. What we are seeing from Gradey D so far is what I hoped Miller would look like to kick off his second year. Still a ton season left and I think his game one injury slowed him down.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Hands are a God given gift. You can develop an improved handle, but fact is, either you’ve got em or you don’t. I love Brandon Miller, but he is not likely to become a menace with his dribble.

Miller seems to be making some big strides on the defensive end.
Offensively his outside shot isn't falling but I have faith that this is just a slump and that his elite shooting is going to return.

Think this just reinforces the scheme concerns + also says (along with the growth on D) part of it is just BMill adjusting to stuff he wasn't asked to do his first year (and his one year in Nate Oats's offense).

I definitely am frustrated with Brandon's issues this season, but I'm starting to walk that back in my mind because if putting him in uncomfortable situations is a catalyst for growth for him, then I am completely on board. It is frustrating to watch him struggle off the dribble, but I also think that skillset is likely to be his biggest barrier to stardom so I would endorse the staff forcing him to work on it even if he struggles initially.

I could very much see the staff refusing to only put him in simple C&S actions because they view him as needing to maximize his creation ability to reach his long term potential. Using this season to build that skillset regardless of the outcome seems like a good strategy to me. Not sure whether that is what is happening, but I see it as possible.

The fact that we struggled on the defensive boards, then flipped a switch and became the best defensive rebounding team in the league tells me that the staff can scheme to fix a problem if they really want to. Same thing with our defense, we were dead last in the league in DRTG through 11/2 (the second BOS game). Since then, our DRTG is ranked 8th.

3s and paint is a fine shot profile for the Josh Greens and Tidjanes, maybe even the Codys, Grants, and Miles out there. your actual advantage gainers on offense that you rely on break down a set halfcourt defense, Melo, Miller, Mann on our team, should have the freedom to do whatever they feel comfortable doing to attack defenses. anything else is instilling them with poor habits and confidence

if we arent maximizing our players in games that count then we're tanking. which i think we might be doing anyway. you can get reps in practice. Brandon won't be a good or confident driver to the basket at his height until he hits the weight room, especially against defenders that can read a 3 second scouting report and know the second his foot steps over the 3pt line he's only a threat to drive all the way or kick

I hope this is what the coaching staff are doing. Miller being uncomfortable with the ball in his hands is not helping his growth. Hopefully he starts gaining confidence as a ball handler it would open up his game so much more.

A few funny posts I ran across while searching the archives today.

Clifford won't be managing his minutes. Miller will be a G-League starter the next two years.

I think passing on Scoot Henderson and calling the team monumentally stupid isn't pessimistic. It's realistic.

You seem pretty confident in your opinion, are you going to come back and eat crow if you're wrong?
