I believe Melo sees the game through a specific lens, one that emphasizes fun, showtime plays and highlight moments.
If LaMelo plays so selfish our offense should be better when he is off the court just because someone isn't out there making bad passes, avoiding running the offense and taking bad shots. Except the number say otherwise.
So why would that be any different if we got rid of LaMelo tomorrow. Is that magically going to make Charles Lee offense work better?
There is understanding maybe a move can help sometimes, and there is just blind hoping for the best.
AND there is addition by subtraction. Melo won’t change, isn’t adapting, isn’t maturing as a pro, and despite his personality (which seems to make him genuinely liked by his teammates) his play isn’t cutting it here. Trade him for some competent guys who can contribute more than our current crop. It’s a way to better support Kon and Miller’s development than the circus act we get from Melo.
