Re: Around the NBA 12
MIA makes it through the play in games as if just to spite CHA future pick only to get absolutely embarrassed, historically shellacked by Cavs so annoying

Miami is not out of their hole yet. They continue on next season without Butler. They keep their own pick in the 2026 draft so they may not make any big additions. The value of the 1st owed Charlotte is still rising given their obvious ceiling. Pick 15 may be their peak. Downhill from here.

All Melo has shown is he can get great stats in a losing effort. He's not even on the same level as a guy like Cade. We need more around Melo.
I mean it is a broken cycle.
Player on bad team, losing player.
Player on a good team, winning player.
If Melo were traded to Clippers tomorrow, he would be crowned a winning player because he wins. Why? Because the Clippers are all in on winning games. Hornets are all out on winning games, it is very obvious to most that the Front Office doesn't actually want to win right now with their actions but yet we still mope around as if Melo is failing the team because we don't win...... When literally any team that tried a halfway bit in the Eastern conference this year got into the playoffs.
The Heat traded away their best player and still made the playoffs.
Magic had a billion missed games by their best 3 players, still made playoffs.
Detroit added guys worth 2nd round picks and made the playoffs.
Bucks made the playoffs with a nursing home team.
Hawks traded away Bogdanovic, didn't have their 2nd best player and no Capela and almost made the playoffs.
Chicago traded away Lavine for spare parts and started Buzelis while tanking and still almost made the playoffs.
It isn't that hard if you actually decide you want to do that.

Bragging about the worst ROY season since 2016 when Brogdon won it, is probably not a great toot your own horn moment. Especially when he wasn't even available for our pick lol. Again that is 9 years worth of Rookies and his season is the least impressive.

Gonna be funny people hating on this kid when he's making the all-star team every year.JMAC3 wrote:JustBuzzin wrote:MasterIchiro wrote:Miami is not out of their hole yet. We tried to tell them.
Needed an elite secondary playmaker, defender, and 3 level scorer with good size, athlecism, IQ, and feel.
It is too bad we fell to 6 and when targeting a trade up to 3, pondered Sheppard out loud on tape.
Peterson ran a poor draft in his first try. I think Cho botched his first draft, and every one thereafter. But I think it's good Peterson at least has a scouting background and isn't just an accountant.
The Castle haters know who they are. But they will be loud and proud next draft, bash fan favorites with glee and never own up to their awful positions.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Castle had a solid season and deserved ROY. I have little confidence in Peterson given his strategy and decisions last year. Yes it was his first year and a generally mediocre draft, but there were much better picks available who are and will be contributors. Castle will be a long term part of the Spurs future…at minimum a key glue guy who stirs the drink.
BTW, if the Hornets make some trade to bring Sheppard here next season I will puke on Jeff’s shoes.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

is it Thibs or have the Knicks committed a ton of money to a 1st round exit team.
I don't see any growth out of that core, they are what they are.

They are still up 3-2 in series, I would think they win one of the next two and aren't collapsing a 3-1 lead.

I legit haven't seen any Castle haters in the thread, just you attempting to put yourself on a pedestal for liking a guy that went 4th in the NBA draft when we picked 6th lol. If the Hornets pick 3rd and Dylan Harper goes 2nd are you going to brag about how you thought Harper was good too?
See how strange that process is lol, especially when everyone on the board pretty much had Castle as a top 5 guy in their ranks. He wasn't even a divisive topic lol.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Give us a break, man.
People threw shade at him and dismissed our takes on him. Refused to listen to any counter position.
People thought he wasn't going to make it in the pros and shouldn't even be considered before guys like Sheppard or Holland. Plenty here would've taken Holland over Castle.
What do you think about that hardline stance now?

Re: Around the NBA 12
I think one of the triggers was when Castle's agent leaked that he prefers to play PG. Fans were like we don't need him anyway, didn't score in college to justify high lottery selection. Was the 3rd or 4th option in UConn, yada yada ya. Not a good playmaker because UConn didn't even use him at PG.

I never said he was a option. I'm just saying he was the best rookie like I thought before the draft. It's nothing wrong with patting myself on the back.
Cmon bro this shouldn't bother you.

Some guys can't take being wrong. I get it.
If I'm wrong on a player I will gladly admit it.

I don't recall anyone here being a castle hater. I think he was universally liked as a prospect by this board last year. I think all of us had him ranked well ahead of where we picked.

When you smear a player watched closely by a fan, and act dismissive towards the fan/player, yeah, Ichiro will remind you that your hardline stances aren't so hard.
