Beal is a stud.

if a magic gene showed up at my house tonight, my 3rd wish would be for the clippers to lose this game by 1pt due to a blown call during the last few seconds of the game.

It was a easy hypothetical guess. Phil Jackson wanted a point guard that played under him that was young enough to usher in the new wave as head coach to enforce his principles. As we all know, point guards are an extension of the coach. With Brian Shaw already in Denver and Steve Kerr leaving him hanging in the wings, Derek Fisher was the next best candidate

This is a good option to roll with if Sterling want to rebel and fight like he's been reported to likely do.

The NBA as a organization gotta show him who's boss where if they disenfranchise the team he'll lose more than just taking the option of selling the team.

Tell that clown to get down or lay down.

Disenfranchise them, let the players go where ever. Let Paul or Griffin come to Charlotte.

One can only wish.

how would this even work? dissolve the team? make all players free-agents? all employees of the team laid off? league now operating with 29 teams (with new expansion franchise given to seattle?)

im pretty sure "disenfranchising" means the team has zero power and cant do anything(including making $$$) but will still has to pay the players/staff etc

Here is why the league will want to do this:
If Sterling sues, he may try to bring an antitrust claim, a strategy used in the past by other sports franchisees against their leagues, said Matthew Mitten, director of the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette University. In itself, a forced sale isn’t anti-competitive, Mitten said, and such antitrust claims are usually unsuccessful.

Sterling might get further by arguing that a forced sale of the Clippers violates the California Franchise Relations Act, said Jonathan Solish, a lawyer with Bryan Cave LLP in Santa Monica, California.

“It’s certainly not a long shot that the Clippers are a franchise” under state law, Solish said in an interview.

Sterling could seek the same legal protection as owners of a 7-Eleven Inc. or McDonald’s Corp. store, including the right to “cure” any violation of his contractual obligations with the NBA before the league takes away his franchise, Solish said.

What a mess. I hope it works out for Silver and he gets through this unscathed.
