He made it sound like he hasn't had joy playing the game in the past 3 seasons either, since his breakout year with the Knicks!

Just let Lin play pick and roll off the bench, and everything will be fine. Do anything else, and he will struggle.

Hard to enjoy the game when you're playing next to the black holes that are Harden and Kobe.

Read the turnovers for the top 10 in that list. Then:http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/linje01.html

See the per game stats tovs for lin year after year.

My point this urban myth about turnovers needs to go away especially for high usage guards

If you seen how his teammates treated him over the past 3 years you would understand. Egotistic players like Harden and Kobe used to belittle Lin after every mistake. He was almost a scapegoat and every mistake he made was magnified because he was the chinese guy. It was like LP and Slam on Kemba for Lin in Houston and LAL.

Nothing rejuvenates your love of the game like 30mpg of Cliffords patented Alfense.

Thanks for pointing this out, her per 36 turnover rate isn't that bad.

Can't get any worse than the UCONN gang we have. Thanks, though.

Man, you guys sure were starving for the front office to throw you a bone. Good signing but I'm not sure why everyone is so ecstatic. He takes our bench from crappy to possibly not crappy (if the defense can hold) and doesn't really move the needle much if you are looking big picture. People ready to anoint Cho the emperor of Charlotte for a guy he signed with the MLE lol.

The Lakers only have enough room for one set of fanboys.

I forgot Hornets are playing a preseason game in China this year. Lin + trip to China + MJ = $$$$$

this signing made a lot of sense. what's surprising to me is that it got done. Lin surely had options. this offseason really has changed the entire culture and roster of the team. roster spot by roster spot, the players being brought in are all productive and accountable for open jumpshots. concessions are being made on defense to accommodate players that function naturally in the pick and roll and with open looks. really interesting to see.

EmpireFalls wrote:Lakers fans I've talked to are either laughing at us for signing him or telling me what a steal Lin is.

Considering his known inconsistency, this is about what I would expect. I fear for our bench's defense (Lin+Kaminsky defending pick and rolls sounds a lot like hell) but for the money we'll be paying him it's a great deal IMO.

Lin is average defensively. Some parts of his defensive game is weak. Per 48, he leads all PGs in blks and is 17th in steals. can't be all that bad defensively if he can do that.
