Big difference between IT and MCW. IT's game relies on his offense. MCW relies on his defense.

I really feel like he was about the worst possible fit for this team. We need a guy who can get us into our %$$^**# offense so we don't blow 10 point leads at the end 3rd/early 4th. Those stretches were just brutal last year.

Also, a guy who pairs with kemba in the way that Lin did is a really valuable lineup to have for certain matchup and situations. I think the Kemba/MCW pairing goes together like ketchup and dog food.

The article talked about how the position most affected is point guards because they have to crouch and get into defensive stances so much of the game.

It definitely could explain why his game dropped off a cliff. He was a dumb draft choice in the first place. No clue what hinkie was thinking. His projections were ugly

The moment we signed him I said that we'll be looking for another backup PG by midseason if not sooner. Hopefully Monk and Lamb along with the rest of the above solid bench players can mask just how bad of a player MCW is.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that Stone is good enough to prevent us from having to make a trade if MCW flops.

not just one knee, but both knees

Charlotte Hornets backup point guard Michael Carter-Williams had a procedure on both knees in mid-July that could potentially cost him the preseason in recovery time.

Coach Steve Clifford revealed Carter-Williams’ condition at a luncheon Friday with Charlotte media members who regularly cover the team. Clifford said Carter-Williams isn’t cleared to work out with teammates on court, and it’s not a given Carter-Williams will recover in time to be available for the Hornets’ season opener Oct. 18 at the Detroit Pistons.

Carter-Williams, who has previously missed games with left knee pain, had Platelet-Rich Plasma treatments on the patella tendons in both knees. Doctors extract blood from a patient, extract platelets from the whole blood, and inject the PRP back in a damaged area.

Former EuroLeague champion Cory Higgins flirted with a 50-40-90 season last year against Europe's top competition. He just signed a new contract with CSKA, but we could possibly buy that bugger out...

Though the last news about Sherron Collins on wikipedia are "In March, he signed with the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada with no indication that he ever played for the Blues.", I've heard he has lost weight...

Any of you guys also wondering whether P.J. Hairston was just miscast as a 3-and-D wing when he actually could have brutalized smaller point guards?

I don't put a lot of stock in those numbers- that's the Chinese D-League.

With that said, from what I've seen Smith is half decent and should be in somebody's training camp roster though.

MCW is WOAT.

I'm expecting Monk to see a share of the backup PG minutes and maybe even Lamb. We're not really losing anything with MCW possibly not being cleared by the start of the season. This is a blessing in disguise.

Here is my theory. And I definitely think I'm not far off the mark here.

Jordan didn't want to go into the luxury tax. He said, okay. I know the backup PG position is a problem but even crappy guys like Shaun Livingston are getting paid, Jeff Teague ain't signing to be a backup, etc

Let's take a guy like MCW who is young and might POSSIBLY turn things around here. Who can defend while Batum/Frank take over playmaking duties and monk iso scores. And sign him for 1 year.

Near the deadline we will have an idea of whether we are a playoff team or not (i.e. kemba isn't out for the season or cody/Dwight haven't both succumbed to injuries)

Then we have mcw expiring deal to trade along with lambs palatable deal or bacon, 2nd rd pick etc to solidify the position without paying the tax
