Honestly, out of Clifford, Fizdale, Pierce, Budenholzer, Bickerstaff,Kokoskov, and Borrego. I feel like we might have grabbed best candidate on the market.

Pistons and Raptors still up for grabs

Does make me feel a bit better about him that no other SAS coach has gotten a gig yet.

Messina must be interviewing terribly. He's interviewed everywhere for pretty much every different situation and everyone passed

i don't think thats it really. he's been known as one of the best coaches out for years now and its kinda becoming clear that he's gonna ask for the kitchen sink or happily go back to SA where he can chill waiting for the best opportunity available or just take over after pop leaves

can you blame him?

Yeah, most surprised that Messina hasn't landed a gig. I get asking for a lot, but if you interview a bunch of places and keep not landing, at some point it's going to look like you're the problem.

I don't blame him at all, none of the available jobs with the exception of maybe Toronto are likely that tempting to Messina. The Bucks have Giannis, but their front office is a mess. It isn't surprising in the least that he would prefer to just wait to take over in San Antonio.

I actually view it more as Pete trying to give season ticket holders and the fanbase generally a reason to get excited for the season.

He constantly pumped development of guys last summer too.

The FO has already said they are going to prioritize development. If we don't make some significant roster changes, that is going to get a lot of folks annoyed. Seems like they are trying to get out in front of that.

Random uninteresting anecdote I forgot to share - a few weeks ago I was grabbing lunch uptown and I saw Borrego and JLamb in the same restaurant also getting lunch together

I hope JB gets a shooting coach to join his staff. Being around Chip Engelland for a long time, he should know the value of having one on a team. I really would've wanted for Kreutzer to remain in Charlotte because there's not a lot of "shot doctors" around the league but he's following Cliff to Orlando.

actually POPOVICH is a branch off the CAROLINA tree. Image

At least JB didn't actually work directly for the man that CHEATED for decades! This makes me think way less of Coach Pop!

This dude likes Monk. A lot.

I'm going to guess it's because he's the least likely to be traded. Wouldn't look good to say MKG is looking good and we trade him before season.

Q. You’ve talked about raising the pace, that you aspire to be a team that is efficient offensively in the first five to eight seconds of a possession. How do you accomplish that?

A. You really have to practice with pace. You have to demand that guys run. You have to believe that when they see production when they do run, that they will do it. It’s easy to say we want to play with pace. A lot of coaches out there will say that, but it’s hard to change that (slower) mentality. You’ve got to build the habits in practice to play with pace and energy. Once they taste success with that pace, they will continue to practice it.

Hopefully this means that our main focus as a team will no longer be trying to be the best defensive rebounding team in the history of basketball.
