It would be extremely, extremely disappointing if Mitch couldn't/won't beat that. I'd even settle for 1 first round pick.

I'll believe that LA is willing to trade their 27 and 29 picks when I see it. They've sat on them when better players were available, it sure seems like they're going to ride out the Lebron Era and not mortgage their future any further.

But that report is probably true in the sense that Ainge said 'Hey, if you want any of my guys the 27 and 29 picks are all I want.'

On a 7 million expiring contract, he would be pretty easy to flip to a playoff team fir an asset, assuming he returns from injury . It's not like his game is built on speed.

Per a Jake Fischer of Yahoo sports..

"Heat are among the teams interested in Charlottte’s P.J. Washington, who wasn’t able to reach an extension agreement before the October deadline."

Jovic and MIA's second or this years first?

If PJ is going to cost 17-$20m, I'd just as soon part ways with him. I think we can draft another PF with a similar skill set

Heat fans have wanted PJ for a long time. Jovic and a 1st sounds like a good deal to me.

Well the Heat just moved Dedmon to open up a roster spot. Salaries don’t match so would require some other parts/players. Jovic another young project and out for another month minimum. Agree that PJ should be dealt if he wants anywhere near that money.

Fear we will whiff on the trade deadline…again…given Mitch’s, MJ’s and Cliff’s delusional view of this team’s prospects.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I can't decide which one I am looking forward to more. The Hornets making a trade or

9 teams wanting OG, the trade happening. Then the other 8 teams/fans saying wow they overpaid for a role player.

Interesting how the heat (an actual organization that is run properly) have had interest in PJ for what seems like forever and are interested in giving up assets for him and I'm assuming extending him but some guys want to get rid of him. I'm slightly torn myself, but something to think about.

I think PJ's the kinda player that will play better on a good team and teams like Miami knows this. Put him on Detroit or Houston or the disaster of our current situation and he's gonna be pretty mediocre. Put him on Miami or Boston or Milwaukee and I think he would be a high level role player that's respected around the league kinda like an OG lite

They've allegedly be interested for a couple of years yet haven't sealed the deal. Maybe they aren't interested in giving up "assets" for him

My asking price for PJ would be pretty high. Young 2way big who can shoot who we have rights and RFA. Minimum would be young prospect and a 1st.

PJ is the most obvious " Underwhelming Hornets player who gets traded and does great on another team" we have.

I wouldn't trade him to Miami and the see him average 18/8 alongside Bam and Jimmy. He fits with Melo, as long as he doesn't cost a lot, keep him. If he wants too much in FA, sign & trade him then. Not now.

Miami got hooked on PJ because he can spread the floor, and occasionally reminds them of Haslem when he was younger. Yes he could be better around stronger players. He could also remain the same inconsistent and frustrating player for us or them. If we KEEP him at a stiff salary increase and he continues to play mediocre ball we’re stuck. This team can’t afford to be stuck any worse than we are.

Agree we should not trade if he doesn’t bring a solid return. Still I don’t want to hear that we turned down a good deal because we think he’s our next budding star. There are NO stars on this team, including LaMelo. Ball has to step up his game in several areas to get star status and respect. We’ve got some good potential here with Williams and Ball, some good role players and a number of guys trying to figure it out.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

In true Hornets fashion nary a whisper of activity as deadline looms.

"Could Wednesday’s contest against the Boston Celtics be Matisse Thybulle’s last game as a member of the 76ers? There’s a belief that the shooting guard will be moved before Thursday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline as the team positions itself to win this season’s NBA title. The Sixers (34-18), who are third in the Eastern Conference, could replace him with a suitable backup center to help push the squad to a deep postseason run." – via Keith Pompey @ The Philadelphia Inquirer

"suitable backup center?"

Matisse for Mason straight up.

they'd have to send Korkmaz to match salary. Given that he's owed another year of salary, I think we could easily get our own 2nd back from them in that deal too, maybe sending out one of our later 2nds

What would be the reaction here if Mitch did absolutely nothing?

I wouldn't be surprised at all. In fact, it's probably the most likely scenario.

I think the most likely scenario is we make 1 trade.

zero trade= 10%
1 trade=60%
2 trades=25%
more than 2= 5%

This team needs a shakeup of some sort. Just different pieces for LaMelo to work with. If Mitch does nothing, I don't see him surviving the end of the year
