Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Agree. We need someone with a more aggressive style of play. Tired of the 3 point spamming. Horrible basketball and near unwatchable. Not just for us, but league wide. The league would have more viewers with more aggressive players who take it to the hoop and take pride in defense. Flagg and Edgecombe are the guys who I see in this draft who do that at the highest level in the class.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
I can easily see Edgecombe being at our spot even if we don't get to pick in the top 3. Teams like the Wizards and the Raptors already have their Edgecombe-types, what they need is a lead ballhandler like Harper or Jaku. The Pistons with Ausar and Ron Holland Jr. could also pass him up to roll the dice on a shotmaker like Bailey or Tre Johnson. 4 or 5 is where I'd feel safe about VJ landing in our spot, best to root for more prospects mocked in the top 10 to wind up finishing the season strong.
Looking at his highlights again, the finishing is jaw-dropping but he obviously isn't there yet with his ballhandling. A monster in transition, but in the halfcourt, I haven't found a single clip of him breaking down a defender with his handles. So, closer to D-Wade at Marquette (who was also a work-in-progress on that end coming into the league) than Oladipo at Indiana, who was already showing off the point-guard handles even back then.

Such a shame Harper/Bailey teamed up on a trash program. That team might not even make March Madness.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
I have become a HUGE fan of two players
I think Ian Jackson should be the pick. Dude is the first TAR HEEL in forever I wanted with pick 1.B
I am also a HUGE fan of these two players
1. Braeden Shrewsberry - I think he would be a steal 2nd round *I would consider trading back and taking him late first round*
;t=209s
2. Brandin Cummings
Other players I like are
Naithan George
Jonas Sanon
Kam Jones
Kobe Brea

Yes I would... My track record after my Toni Carr pick has been pretty good lol. I do REALLY well considering I pick players who are NOT ON MOCKS when I find them and then they end up being solid NBA dudes often better than projected Lottery picks

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Kasparas had 16/6/6 on 11 shots in a blowout win against a top 10 team a couple days ago.
Demin had another rough shooting game today. Hes had a horrible time scoring the ball recently. 1/6 from the floor today and shot 26% from the field in his previous four games before that. Hes still been racking up a lot of assists.
VJ Edgecombe was 1/9 from the floor today, but also had 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
Tre Johnson and Jeremiah Fears both have games later today.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Feeling more open to like 6 draft prospects now. Although my heart is still set on Harper. Flagg would be a dream as well if what he's done these past 2 games is more representative of his promise. Even seeing Bailey have a big game does wonders for my psyche. This has been a rough season, but LaMelo, Miller, Mark, and Mann have all shown flashes of greatness, while Melo may start an All-Star game.
It has been written...

Harper would solve so many issues with this offense. I really like the idea of Melo playing off ball a bit more. The way he can shoot the 3 it shouldn't be a problem.
I get Luka/Kyrie vibes with a Harper/Melo backcourt.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
If we miraculously pick 1 we have to pick best player available. If some of you think Harper I respect it, he’s a hell of a talent. But I just don’t see how it wouldn’t be Flagg by a landslide.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
You also won’t see me bashing Harper to try and up Flagg. Unlike last year when I blasted Scoot every chance I got.
