Thanks, man. The fact that he has shown so much promise in only the first half of his rookie season shows how great he can become. A ton of two-way potential and he's got great personality on and off the court. He's got everything to make it big.

Been on his bandwagon ever since seeing his moves in the pre-season.

I love agile and skillful Euro bigs.

That's great, man. A lot of people didn't even pay attention during the preseason. He was especially good against the Bulls in preseason.

Had him #7 during the draft and I was being careful/respectful. Ranked guys like Jabari, Vonleh, Smart and Exum in front of him even though I didn't like their two-way upside as much as I like Jusuf's. I like Jusuf better than those guys, jury's still out on Embiid (#2 on my board after Wiggins) but Jusuf could end up being the best C out of the two. Still not a fan of Randle (although he hasn't gotten a chance to prove me wrong) or Gordon.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk about this -- maybe people didn't understand this tweet fully or they read it over too fast? If that's the case, to hammer home the point: Biyombo is now out as well, at least for 10 days :(

Think it's just being overshadowed by the Kemba news. 10 days would be him back for the second Wiz game on 2/5, he'd only miss three games.

(1) Obviously this is total conjecture, but what do you anticipate to be the highest offer Biz will receive?

(2) What are the most favorable terms you would be ok with matching for Biz?

1) Asik money. Don't laugh, with the tv deal someone might throw it at him.

2) I would be okay with either a short 1-2 year deal worth like 7-8M per or a long-term deal with no more than ~5M per.

Bumping this because I've been thinking a bit more about Biz's situation this upcoming offseason. I'm starting to get worried that BDave is right about (1) - there are going to be a lot of teams with some gaudy cap space this offseason, and I can see someone making a play on Biz if he continues to be really productive for the rest of the season.

I'm looking at our cap situation for next year, and if Al and Hendo opt in we could be in real trouble. If I'm looking at the numbers right, with those two in we have $64.6M in committed salary with four spots to fill (Neal, Pargo, Taylor and Maxiell all expire). Early projections for next year's cap space is $66-67M. Can we go over the cap to sign Biz? Not sure how those rules work.

We can go over the cap to sign Biz, the only thing it will hurt is MJ's pocketbook.

K, so the cap only applies to your ability to sign FAs, is that right?

Given the way MJ has talked about Charlotte and supporting the team recently, don't expect that him going over the cap is going to be a major issue. We'll see.

You can exceed the cap to sign players for which you hold their Larry Bird rights. Bird rights are attained when a player has spent at least 3 years with a team, whether it be under one or multiple contracts. It gets a lot more complex with lesser versions Early Bird (2 years) and Non-Bird (1 year, plus the name makes no sense) and the fact that Bird Rights are transferable under MOST* circumstances, but that's the gist.

*Pargo is an example of the exception: he's on his third one-year contract here, so we hold his Bird Rights this offseason, but because he signed another one-year deal his Bird Rights would not be transferred in the event of a trade. As a result, he can block any trade involving himself in order to preserve his Bird Rights. Yep, Jannero Pargo has a no-trade clause.

Here's our FAs this offseason:

Larry Bird Free Agents: Hendo (should he opt out), Biz (RFA), Taylor (RFA), Pargo
Early Bird Free Agents: Al (should he opt out), Neal
Non-Bird Free Agents: Maxiell

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

This team is going to explode when both Biz and Kemba ges back. As soon as we get a date for when Kemba will play I'm taking time off, buying tickets to the next game, booking a hotel, and making the drive to Charlotte.
