Yay the NBA is back! Looking forward to tonight's tie-up, San Antone vs DAL.

Mavs are going be good. Chandler looks rejuvenated playing for the Mavs again. Also Pop's beard is on point.

The third best player in the NBA this year will have fewer than 2 eyebrows. Discuss.

I think he will be the second best player, and I wouldn't be shocked if he wins the MVP.

Edit: And just imagine if we somehow lucked into drafting him. Geez.

No way he is better than Lebron at this stage. If Durant has a slow start recovering from his injury I could easily see the MVP race being between Lebron and Davis. We might be the best team in the east if we swapped MKG with Davis even if we had to start Neal at SG in that scenario.

I don't think hes better than Lebron, but I do think he will rival Durant. I don't think I said he is better than Lebron.

I know, you didn't. I just assumed you meant not as good as Lebron and possibly as good or better than Durant. I was agreeing. My brain is just weird and I word and structure things I write oddly sometimes. I think Davis is the early frontrunner for DPOY and if he averages 25+ ppg its going to be hard to deny that its possible he might be as good or better than Durant. Its a tough subject though because Durant is so epicly good. The top end talent in the NBA is absurd right now.

A team owned by the league being sold to a new owner conveniently jumps 4 places in the draft to overtake the worst team in NBA history for the right to draft sure thing Anthony Davis?* Total BS, total travesty, totally ridiculous. Absolutely made me a conspiracy theorist. I will never believe what happened was honest. If this had happened to the NY Knicks the media would still to this day be hammering the injustice of it all.

*PS just a refresher: The NBA owned NO from Dec '10 to April '12, because, while its hard to imagine now, they couldn't find a buyer. On April 13, 2012 Tom Benson agreed to buy NO. On May 30 they were awarded the #1 pick in the draft, Davis, whose photo wearing a Hornets hat prior to the draft had been posted by Stun on this board.

No small market team should have voted for the new lottery system. Just gives big market teams even more of an advantage.

Damn. Julius Randle just went down. They don't know if it's a broken leg or torn achilles.
