Should Jeremy Lin?(More shooting)

Post#1801 » by Watchlist » Wed Nov 4, 2015 12:54 am

I really think jeremy lin should start, eithier at PG or if u don't want kemba of the bench start him at SG, I mean he worked on his shooting over the summer. Look at this video he goes 10 for 10. We need more shooting with big Al on the floor

Hornets simply looked more in control with Lin as the PG. Lin needs to play with the starters more as the PG.

Disagree, one ok game doesn't propel him into the starting lineup. If anyone that might get inserted into the starting lineup anytime soon it's Jeremy Lamb. Also Kemba is looking pretty good and comfortable with the starters. Just be happy that Lin had a good game, much better than his last 2. He needs to play with more consistency to earn the coach's and players' trust.

As a lin fan . I am really worried that his minutes are rapidly dropping. Despite consistant play.

Lin is just fine where he's at.

As a Lin fan I have to point out he hasn't been consistent. He played a good game against Miami and then played 2 bad ones in Atlanta. I'm fine with how Clifford is playing him right now. Tonight, Kemba was playing well with the starting unit and opened up a big lead early, so he ran with it. I have no problem with it and you shouldn't either.

he has been anything but consistent. 27, 27, 21, and 18 minutes are exactly what you expect a backup PG to play. Probably more. I think Lin was terrific tonight and would've played 22 minutes had it not been a blowout. 22 minutes is exactly what he should be playing all season.

If Lamb continues to play well Lins minutes may drop even more.

And I hope Lamb does just that.

if lin had played his normal level in last two, hornets could have won both... he is so capable, just need to impose his will a little more

I agree. I'm not saying he needs to start but his minutes are the lowest they have been in his entire career, including that terrible experience with the tanking Lakers.

Lin led the team in minutes, points, and assists during the 7-1 preseason . . . and yes, it was just preseason but it reflects what he can provide given the minutes.

I'm sure it'll all even out in the end but I was really anticipating 30+ minutes/game, not mid-20s.

Our FO made clear he was coming in as a backup. The plan was never to play him 30+ minutes. We literally just extended Kemba, the starting gig is his.

I love having Lin here and honestly don't care if he is getting ten or forty minutes as long as we're winning. I just don't think you can criticize the FO or coaching staff for being less than clear in setting expectations.

relax, still early... i think lin will end up 27-30 range, typical 6th man range... as good as harden and manu was as a sixth man, they played around that range.... so i don't think lin's minute will top 30, don't even dream about it...

Kemba hasn't been exactly consistent either, but Jeremy hasn't really outplayed him significantly. At this point, Kemba is someone Clifford knows. Kemba has more reps with the starting unit. So if neither Kemba nor Jeremy are playing particularly well, it makes sense to stick with Kemba a bit more. Especially the first Atlanta game I was happy with the way Clifford played Jeremy. He pretty didn't play well the entire game and then I think had a bunch of TO's in the 3rd and/or 4th. Clifford still let him play down the stretch after a short rest/calm down. Tonight, like I said, Kemba was playing well, particularly in the 1st half. Part of the reason why Jeremy played so little was also because it was a blowout. I do think he should get more minutes, but he hasn't made a strong case yet.

The difference is that Kemba plays the same whether it's the 1st quarter or the 4th quarter. Jeremy plays well when there is less pressure and his confidence level is high but both drop when the pressure picks up, it's like he's afraid to make mistakes then becomes merely a floor spacer. He's not totally comfortable out there but it's still early so he will need to earn their trust.

It's too early to settle issues of playing time - things will settle into place as we get a better sample size of how this team plays together, who plays well together, and who plays well consistently.

Tonight what's exciting to see is that what we have in Charlotte works. Regardless of who gets slightly more minutes, we know Lin will be playing a style he likes to play and with great teammates

If Lin can play as well as he did in preseason and tonight, he will be given more minutes. I checked into the game when he had played 14:44 minutes and he had 15 points / 3 rebounds / 3 assists / 1 block. He was 4-7, 2-2 3 ptrs, 5-5 FTs.

Found this on JLinPortal. I have no idea what they're saying, but the team seems to be giddy with their first win of the season.

They didn't even all bother to get dressed before sharing their elation on social media when Lin filmed this. I guess having Lin on the team helps amplify the Hornets win on social media and reaching out to a global audience, judging by whatever Mandarin they seemed to have picked up from their trip overseas.

The team seems practically euphoric over their first win.

Didnt watch the game today. What was going on that was letting the CHA shooters just tee off like that? Did Lin do anything special today or was it just Pleasantville style every shot they threw up went in type of thing?
