Oh yeah, that SGA trade has turned out awful. Especially considering how he bought into playing in such a small market.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Less than a week from the trade deadline. Anyone else getting that old sinking feeling? That feeling that we’re about to get hosed, or do nothing.
Trades this year are going down earlier. With our “assets”, you’d think (apart from the obvious Rozier deal) we would be finding a dance partner on some of these.
Lowry is a lost cause. Kupchak let it “slip” that we’d buy him out if no trade. Idiot.
Miles probably won’t bring enough value back to make a deal. Our best play may be to keep him and hope he gets back to climbing higher than his ceiling.
Hayward isn’t helping us by not getting back on the court. I don’t see much of an offer coming there.
Can’t (and shouldn’t) trade Nick unless we get a crazy good haul. He’s too valuable at his contract $.
….. can’t wait for Sleepy Mitch to get fired.

Kennard could make sense as a guy we get back as bench scorer for us moving forward.
Piggy backing off this idea the other... adding in the fact that Memphis wants open roster spots to keep Biz when Ja comes back. What do you think about this?
Grizzlies get Hayward
Hornets get Kennard, Steven Adams plus an asset (2nd rounder or young player)
Why for Grizz: Clears roster crunch, puts them in a much more manageable cap spot next and Hayward fills a need at the 3 spot they are lacking this year.
Why for Hornets: Hornets likely aren't bringing back Hayward. Kennard is probably a guy that given Hornets cap situation would be an easy yes to PO. They eat Adams cap for now, but he would be a good locker room addition and they could look to flip him or Nick Richards in the summer and still have a solid center rotation. Konchar/Roddy/LaRavia would be a great pickup, but doubt they toss him in. I think a 2nd would be fine.
Thought them dumping Adams was a strong possibility months ago.

I mean what more can we do?
As it currently stands if we make no moves we have 50mil in cap space and a top 5 pick.
It's not the worst situation to be in.

The only player I could see us trading that could return some real value is PJ. But I don't like the idea of trading him until we know how things will play out this summer. If we move PJ it should be done in the off-season.
Hayward could return us some assets, if we take back bad salary. But I'm not a huge fan of that idea unless it's with an aging team like GS where we could strike gold on a future pick.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
On the LaMelo concerns, I think the story is different if we're talking about a chronic knee injury (kinda like Cody Martin or Lonzo) than ankles. Ankles and wrists heal won't take away explosiveness or quickness once fully healed the same way a bum knee or back injury would. He's not an NFL RB or WR, he's an NBA point guard and as JMAC mentioned, only 22 years old. This fanbase has been paranoid about LaMelo since day one between him being so good he asks out of Charlotte or him being so injury prone we need to sell him before nobody else wants him. I promise if LaMelo were available right now half the league would be interested and willing to pony up lots of 1sts. But that would be stupid of us because it may take another decade to get anyone as good as him.
The types of trades I expect to happen are the ones nobody is talking about like Lowry or Hayward to a team in cap trouble that wants to clear some salary this summer.

Per @FlexFromJersey on the @PHNX_Suns pod, Miles Bridges talks are "no longer in the exploratory phase, this thing is getting serious."
"It's graduated over the last 24-48 hours. Multiple contacts have confirmed to me that this is moving now, potentially even towards the finish line."

Are we about to give away miles for an expiring and a 2030 2nd round pick?

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Probably something dumb like Miles + Gordon for Beal.
Which would be awful.
The Suns don't have much of anything besides Allen and 2nds to trade.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Apparently it could be both Nick and Miles going to Suns lolol... if I was Clifford I would just fake a health issue rather than continue to coach this talentless team.

No need to fake a health issue he might literally have one. I might too.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Evidently Allen is an expiring contract too.
So, even if we get him, we may end up losing him in the offseason too.
Little doesn't even play and is under contract for 4 years at 6m per.
Okogie? Wanatambe?
Literally scraping the bottom of the barrel. Hopefully these rumors aren't true.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
I wouldn't even trade Richards for those bums.
Speaking of trading Richards, who play center if we trade him?
Either Mitch is about to get fleeced or it's a 3-team deal somehow.
