We do need to find MKG a backup, maybe its PJ he is big enough to play SF.

I think he is. He has the strength to play there. He is not a great answer right now but I think he will become a very solid player down the road. If he develops nicely he could slot into the SG spot and then we will need to hunt for a backup again but that is a good problem to have. It is the searching for starters issue that is terrible.

I caveat this whole thing with the acknowledgment that you can't just tie everything to him, there are more factors at play. With that said, I challenge anyone to find a stronger indicator of value.

Yes, there's a greater drop off from MKG to our backup wings than Kemba/Al backups. MKG's backup(s) has been Jeff Taylor, Gary Neal, and/or this distorted version of Lance Stephenson who happens to be the worst net player in the normal rotation

Fair point, though Kemba had Luke Ridnour backing him up last season.

I don't recall Kemba missing any games with Ridnour as his backup. I do remember him missing games with Sessions as his backup though

Just rechecked the box scores, he missed a couple games in April and Ridnour filled in. You were correct though that Sessions filled in when he was out seven games in late Jan / early Feb.

Correct. Nice find. It appears that we loss to the Celtics and then squeezed by the Sixers with Ridnour starting for a 1-1 record in 2 games without Kemba due to a knee contusion

MKG was drafted to be that connector to winning even if it don't show in the box score and that's exactly what he's been. Sorta like how Dennis Rodman was for the Bad Boy Pistons when they started winning chips.

MKG is beasting.

He's already our best player but it will be clear over the second half of the season imo.

Now about those FT's...

Film room all-stars, MKG made the list of 13.

I think James Johnson would be an excellent, cheap back up SF to MKG.

He's kind of the SF version of McRoberts IMO.

I think MKG could be one good offseason away from being an All-Star caliber player.

Picked up the Sports Illustrated magazine to read the article on him earlier and enjoyed it a lot, great read. I had no clue a magazine was going to cost $5 though, seems a little pricey to me.

That's a lot of scratch on a college budget. The least they could do is throw in the swimsuit edition for free.

No doubt! Could've gotten a cookout tray for that

They price it that way so people just do the annual subscription. Apparently their current intro price is seventy cents per issue. You could buy seven editions on the stand for $35 during the course of a year, or buy an annual subscription of 56 issues for $38 (they'll throw in a tshirt and jacket for your favorite NFL team).

Thanks for the link. Was going to buy the SI issue that the article was in, but its outrageous unless you have a yearly subscription

2 things that stuck with me from that article.. Jay Z befriended him when he was 12 and Rod Higgins is the one that drafted him
