I understand the Wallace comparisons, but Wallace was a much better athlete in my opinion.

That being said I think MKG will have a way better NBA career than Wallace.

Interesting since there's only two games until the break. #BonnellBeat

Dammit I'm probably going to that Pistons game Tuesday, and now none of my three favorite players will play and we'll get lit up by DJ and Singler.

God knows I'll be hoping to see Elliot, PJ, Taylor, Vonleh, and Zeller together at some point.

We're lucky we're playing two battered teams before the break otherwise we'd have some serious trouble going into our post-all-star stretch.

We have no defense left with Biz, MKG, and Kemba out, in addition to no offense. The final score vs. Indiana might be 55-50.

So, PHI/IND/DET heading into the All-Star break? What a colossal screw up tonight, we could have easily won all three and headed into the All-Star break riding high. What a waste. I know that losing MKG is huge to us, but still, damn. There is enough talent on this team to win all three of those games, and we go and lose the easiest one right off the bat, sigh.

Is there? With the exception of Hendo and Zeller (both are inconsistent), we've lost every decent defensive player on the roster. Defensive identity only gets you so far if you start Jefferson/Zeller/Hairston/Henderson/Roberts as your starting five, like I expect we will if MKG is indeed out till ASW.

No chance we win vs Indy or Detroit w/out MKG, Kemba and Biz. Thank god for that all-star break.

Is anyone else worried that MKG's style of play throwing himself around all over the place is gonna make him injury prone?

Yep, I've said as much.

His greatest attribute can be his biggest detriment. He is who he is because he plays 110% at 110 mph at all times. The problem is 99% of his injuries have been because of this.

You just have to accept it. Because of you ask him not to play as hard so he doesn't get hurt then he isn't anywhere near what he can be when healthy.

Now I do think as his jumper improves it will get better because he won't recklessly crash the lane as much. Once he can spread it out a bit more his contact on offense should drop a bit. The way he crashes the boards and the way he plays defense will always be an issue but assuming he can still add a little bulk and keep his speed it could become less of one as he grows into his frame more.

Do you guys think we should try to bring in a pretty solid SF this offseason to backup MKG? You know, considering how much we suck when MKG goes down and how often he goes down?

Actually my impression is that guys retaliate on MKG. He plays with a ton of energy on every possession and lots of guys like to take possessions off. They get pissed and go after him. He's getting a lot of hard contact in situations that don't involve driving to the basket.

I also think that this is one reason that Cliff manages his minutes. MKG will wear himself out. He doesn't save anything for the 4th if you leave him on the floor for huge chunks of the first 3 quarters. It's not that MKG is out of shape, it's just like you said 110% 110 MPH all the time.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'm starting to be not that worried about his injuries. It seems like Anthony Davis is getting hurt about as much as MKG.

Davis is more injury prone than MKG imo.

Anyone who plays the game like GOATchrist is going to get injuries, just part and parcel of sacrificing your body for the game.

Guy has to learn to save his body. When you see a guy like James Harden slack off on defense, it's because he's being overworked on offense. MKG isn't even an offensive weapon and he's still running all over the court, going for boards, etc. He has the motor to be an incredible off-ball scorer if he can get his jumper to fall for him.
