Are you saying we should trade Biz, MKG, AND Vonleh for Gibson?

Cause, you know, that's stupid.

I think he meant MKG or Biz/Vonleh, not all 3. Either way both of those proposals are a no go for me.

I wonder if Klay Thompson will hit the block if the Warriors fall out of it early. Obviously the Warriors love him but he's about to get paid and he is really tough to fit into that budget. If we're talking about trading guys like MKG or Vonleh or Hairston, we should be looking at bigger targets - not Taj Gibson.

The Klay Thompson ship has sailed. If any team wanted him they should've made their pursuit last season before his breakthrough when they were at least considering it. The Warriors would trade their whole roster excluding Steph Curry to keep Thompson in Golden State now

The Mavericks just released Ivan Johnson. If we don't like Maxiell I'd love for us to take a look at him.

Unrealistic trade #16578570

CHA-Shabazz Napier
MIA-Jamer Nelson + 2nd round pick (from the PJ/Shabazz trade)
DAL-Brian Roberts + Justin Hamilton + 2nd round pick from Charlotte

I like Brian Roberts, especially after our last preseason game. He just needs to be matched with a defensive minded off guard which definitely isn't Neal. Thats our main problem.

I think he will mainly be the backup at SF. Clifford in an interview the other day basically said that Neal is great at 20-22 minutes a game, which of course will be at SG. Who knows at this point though.

Gerald plays the SF role on offense anyway. Regardless of position, whether it's PG, SG, or SF, Gerald's going to have to guard the other team's sixth man quite often. That is, unless we let Lance run the second unit Manu style.

Klay Thompson's camp is frustrated that the Golden State Warriors have not offered a maximum contract in their ongoing extension talks, according to sources.

Thompson and the Warriors face Friday's nearing extension deadline.

Joe Lacob has yet to become comfortable offering Thompson a maximum deal, sources said.

A source close to Thompson said any offer shy of a max would be "absurd" considering his improvement and the influx of money to come to NBA teams from the next television contract.

Thompson averaged 18.4 points, 2.8 3-pointers, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game last season.

This is something to monitor. This is a pinnacle year for the Hornets and I haven't ruled out the possibility MJ will go all-in on a player to give the new Hornets a chance at something truly special. Klay Thompson is a player you go all-in for if the opportunity arises. The Cavs didn't get Kevin Love for free - they gave up 2 consecutive #1 picks. It would be a painful transaction but it's the only way to become elite.

If Steve Clifford committed to playing MKG at the 4, I'd give up Vonleh+Hendo+1st or something for Klay. Klay on a max contract doesn't hold elite value, but it's certainly better than Hayward on a max or something.

Al/Biz
MKG/Zeller
Klay/Marvin/Hairston
Lance/Neal
Kemba/Roberts

That's a true all-in move.

I hate the value because I love Vonleh, I think he can be a star someday, and it eats up cap for like forever, but that is a trade that could put us over the top. That MKG/Klay/Lance trio on defense is easily the best in the NBA. We'd match up well with Cleveland too. If Kemba has a hard time guarding Kyrie then throw Thompson on him and make Kemba guard Waiters or Miller or someone while you have Lance and MKG taking turns on Lebron while the other guards whoever and then some combination of people guards Love somehow. Not sure how we'd matchup against Chicago's frontline but we'd have a shot.

Fun to think about but we all know that never happens though...

Vohleh is part of our solution, not part of a trade away. Doubt they'd do that deal anyway. While Hyphen is improving, he is no PF. If you deal for Klay, gotta send MKG with players and picks. Also gotta be comfy with Lance and Klay switching out defending the 3 or 2 depending on matchup. It would be a nice group, especially when Vonleh is ready to contribute. Just wonder if Al will be viable as a player (and at a manageable salary) if he opts out next season?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

MKG should never play PF in my opinion, and if he does it should be more very limited minutes.

Is this what you're thinking as a trade?

MKG + PJ Hairston + 1st + Miami 2nd for Klay Thompson

And this lineup for the future?

Kemba Walker - PG
Klay Thompson - SG
Lance Stephenson - SF
Noah Vonleh/Zeller - PF
Al Jefferson/Biz - C

Well Barnes is a 6th man and Iggy can play SG.

They'd still have shooting with Curry, Barnes and someone like Hairston. They'd just have a lockdown perimeter defense to go with it.
