Napier will go before #24 to Minnesota (#13), Boston (#17), or Memphis (#22)

Maybe. Then I can go with Ennis.

Ennis will go before #24 too. Charlotte should focus on PF depth at #24. There's some unheralded quality around that pick

I think he goes 18 Suns or 19 Bulls.

I'd put my money on #17 to Boston as a local product that the fans love and could also succeed the eventual trade of Rondo

maybe even grab that Latvian dude for Lamar.

Kristaps Porzingis, he sounds like an intriguing project worthwhile 3rd string big.

Maybe. Porzingis has game, but I think teams will regret passing on Jarnell Stokes in the coming years. He's almost just as good of a prospect as Julius Randle, minus the hype

This year we seem pretty unified compared to last. I know I can't get upset over most of these scenarios.

The 'Gary Harris'-'Aaron Gordon' scenario could get you (us) upset

Remember, last year none of us really discussed Cody Zeller until it happened

if we trade #9 for jeremy lamb, i will freak out. he doesnt have that kind of value. it doesnt matter if you THINK he will be great. his value isnt that high, unless he blows up in the next few games.

also, i want no part of aaron gordon. he was literally the first player that came to mind when thinking of the worst fit for our roster. let him go play amazing defense and get hustle points somewhere else. we need pure scorers and big men (and a backup pg, but we can address that in free agency or at 24).

in the upcoming days, we will create individual threads for each prospect in our draft range, similar to what we did last year. if anyone is motivated, feel free to get started making threads.

Not even Cho is dumb enough to trade the 9th pick for Lamb.

How much impact does having another 1st round pick have on our cap space this offseason? Assuming we draft and sign both our firsts and our second, how much space does that leave us with?

If you assume McBob opts out (which I think he will, otherwise he'd only make about $2.7 million next year), we would have about $21 million in space prior to rookie signings with 9 guys under contract. The following picks will make the corresponding amounts next year:

9th pick: $2,524,200
24th pick: $1,238,640
46th pick: $610,000 (estimated based on Jeff Taylor's second round contract)

Prior to getting the pick we were staring at about $19.275 million in space, but in getting the pick it's now around $16.75 million. Should McBob decide to opt in, we'd have just shy of $14 million to play with.

But there are still several holes to fill, as Higgins noted Tuesday night:

“We need a backup point guard. We probably need a backup wing. And we can always use an extra big” guy.

well I'm glad shooting guard isn't really an issue for us then.

phew.

true, we dont need one for everybody, just the guys in that 9 range that will peak our interests
lavine, young, stauskas, mcdermott, saric, gordon, smart

then maybe just one thread for the guys in the 24 range

9. Charlotte Hornets Gary Harris, SG, Michigan State
Harris is one of the best shooters in the draft, shooting 42.9% from the floor and 35% from beyond the arc. The Hornets need help on offense, and Harris could come in right away and help them in that department.

Talk about inefficiency. I'm willing to admit that my favorite prospect for Charlotte at #9, James Young, was inefficient with 41% shooting and 35% from beyond the arc, but at least he isn't undersized

Looking at these current mock drafts, Hornets fans better start warming up to the idea of Gary Harris or Aaron Gordon, both typical Cho guys
