I know it’s the NBA silly season, but it feels like everyone’s going a little bonkers!!

I can’t wait until we do something radical on draft night and that becomes the focus of everyone’s singular attention!!!

You mean like draft BPA at 3? Because I’m just fine with that outcome!

James Harden is an amazing player. There's no way he would come here, but if he did and tried, he would actually be a player to build a team around. But he turned Charlotte down once, he will do it again. He wants to play with Kyrie and KD for some reason because he thinks Westbrook is a ball hog, and those two are going to be better. Sure they are James.

And why does everyone want to trade Miles Bridges? Firstly, you ain't getting a future first for him. Right now, no one is trading future firsts for anyone but a proven superstar. Secondly, he's young and growing and getting better. He was the freakin rising stars game MVP just last year.

I'm glad Mitch is our GM and not the people on this freakin board.

I would’ve agreed with this yesterday but then I woke up to alerts that said Portland gave up two first round picks for Robert Covington.

I like Wiseman a lot, but hell no to trading an additional first to move up for him.

BTW, just noticed The Athletic mock also now has Edwards at number 1 (updated 4 hours ago). So that's at least 5 notable mocks placing him there in the last 24 hours.

I'm not sure Edwards has the trade value of Wiseman or Ball at this point, could be real.

Luke Kennard and Svi Mykhailuk are both bench guys realistically. Kennard might be a starter on the right team, but he is so 1 dimensional. It is not the worst trade, but no way is Detroit giving up an unprotected first in that deal. So even if it is top 8 protected (seems standard) good chance Detroit doesn't convey until maybe 2022 draft.

So could very easily be 3 for 7th this year, 9th in 2022 draft and Kennard.

I just don't love it because we have been drafting in the 7-12 range forever and have yet to find a star. We finally have a chance to get a franchise changer at 3 potentially and I don't want to give that up. 1 player is such a difference maker in the NBA, give me the star player over 4 rotation guys any day.

I don't know...I just have a gut feeling that Edwards is going to be a star.

Problem is both with Minny and and to an extent GS, he's going to play with guys who need the ball. Here, he can have pretty much free reign.

I wouldn't be opposed to moving up to #1 to draft him.

I'm not totally opposed to picking Edwards, but I am concerned about the reports that he might have problems from bad influences near home (Atlanta). He also seems a little bit full of himself in interviews, also true for Ball to be fair, so being the big ticket from day one might just exacerbate that. His talent is undeniable though, so if he fell to 3 I'd still take the risk.

Mostly I just think it would be good for us if he goes to Minny because it totally clarifies our process, assuming the reports that Wiseman is our guy are accurate. If Edwards goes first then we have a simple A/B path, either take our guy or sell Ball to the highest bidder. At that point Mitch can focus on driving up the price of offers.

Do these dudes get paid for these opinions? I mean that’s not insight, that’s just common sense. Of course they could do that, every team could do something like that

Glad the draft is almost here! It's been a slog, easily the year I've most watched different prospects due to quar. Still it's often most fun we get as Hornets fans. I really hope we take on a contract and get another pick in the 16-24 range. Even adding someone like Cole Anthony would be fun, though I'd much rather take Maxey.

Agreed, I love draft day and the opening of free agency. We've waited a long damn time for it and it's been a rough year to say the least so I'm going to enjoy it.
