No one talks about Taj Gibson (or not anymore if its been the case before) but i would much rather try to get Gibson (expiring) & say, A. Bradley since they either dont play or on expiring without matching the new core of the team (as long as Saric is).
Geting a highly ranked established player would cost too much, especially if we still dont know what Kemba's side will decide to do (Kemba is one thing, but as we saw recently, surroundings can mess up).
Just saying but a guy like Millsap is technically on expiring too (30M team option from Denver, and i dont see why they would pick it up). And there are many other good opportunities that would be 'under the radar' and way more productive than just signing one guy hoping it will be enough to turn the team into something really competitive.
My take is that one elite player along Kemba won't be enough by far and you dont move the cursor.
Earlier in the offseason we were talking - with Yosemite and couple more - about J Richardson here, and i was among the ones who thought he could really fit. Well, too bad now since he is exploding. But if Kupchak is that good, he will manage to get what this team needs and not just for the very short term.
@catch. i doubt wcs is available now that he is performing. I'd much rather explore that trade idea about batum vs Shumpert/Randolph
Last but not least, i dont need to point out that the most expensive is not necessary the most productive
