Agreed, I love draft day and the opening of free agency. We've waited a long damn time for it and it's been a rough year to say the least so I'm going to enjoy it.

What is everyone worst case scenario? Obviously make it realistic.

I can live with taking any of top 3 prospects at three at this point.

Honestly mine is that we are on the board at 3 with Lamelo/Edwards available, but instead of taking them or trading down or whatever we just take Onyeka at 3. Edwards/Lamelo go to another team and become a Star and we are stuck with a Wendell Carter Jr clone putting up 14 and 8 three years from now.

Worst case: Trading a future 1st to pick Wiseman

Worst Case: Trading back in hopes of OO and miss out on the 'Big-3' and OO (probably Deni too)... and end up with Toppin.

I also think it’s important to remember that we weren’t even meant to be picking at #3 - so the fact we can even discuss landing one of the projected top 3 picks in the draft class is pretty cool.

Worst case is Ball says he doesn't want to play for us and we draft him anyway.

Worst case is not using the 3rd pick on Edwards, Ball, or Wiseman. Do not trade up or down.

The worst case scenario is trading the 3rd pick, Rozier, and Zeller for Westbrook.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario?
We draft Ball. We trade for Westbrook. Westbrook goes Steve Smith and destroys the confidence of Ball and all our young players. He singlehandedly destroys our future, no one wants to stay, and Michael has to sell the team and they move to Seattle, and the Charlotte Hornets board turns into the Seattle Spindles board and because I'm not rooting for a team 3000 miles away, I have to start rooting for Atlanta or Washington. Please MJ, don't trade for Westbrook and make me root for either of those teams.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I don't think michael jordan is going to draft ball if he falls he doesn't like that clown family. The bottom line is this michael jordan is going to make that final decision on ball, i would say there 80 percent chance he won't draft ball.

I think MJ has input in what the team does, but I also believe that he does not have ultimate say. Kupcheck could get a GM job somewhere else if he is just the whipping boy. This isn't "your'e one chance to be a GM Rich Cho".

Also, for people who are saying that Lamelo can't go high because he hasn't played top competition.

Lonzo played a year at UCLA (31-5) and made them one of top 10 teams in country. I think every scout will tell you Lamelo is the superior prospect and Lonzo went second. If Lamelo played college ball last year, he would be the number 1 pick easily. For as much **** as we give Lamelo on his jumper form, it is light years ahead of Lonzo shot when he was taken.

Conversation with some friends, what would it take to get #1 and #17 from Minnesota? Obviously #3 is involved, but what else not including Washington or Graham makes it possible.

Unprotected pick in 2021 + Miles would the starting point. Probably would take more.

My draft day outcomes:

Happy:

Wiseman
Edwards
OO
Somehow trade back for Haliburton + real assets
Ball finds his way to the Knicks
I find another beer in the very back of the fridge to fuel the 2nd round

Sad:

Trading up
Ball in teal
Hayes – I seem to be the outlier here, not a fan
Avdija
Toppin
Westbrook

Mitch has worked for the Buss family before, and im way more pressure situations with the Lakers. He had crazy highs there and pretty bad lows, but im sure he has no problem telling Jordan to let him do his job unlike his predecessor

The 2021 pick was a big topic. We were discussing whether it was unprotected, or is it protected? Unprotected was a no from all of us

Is that straight up, or you also including #3?

There's no way it costs that much to go from #1 to #3

I know this wasn't meant for me, just want to make sure to include pick 17 also. Washington and Graham not available

Hornets get:
Pick # 1
Pick # 17

TWolves get:
Pick # 3

Miles Bridges. They can swap 17 out for 33 if they want.

That feels MORE than fair to me especially given Minnesota's gaping holes at both forward spots.

It shouldn't take any kind of future 1st if we're including Miles.

I wouldn't trade an unprotected 2021 pick for any pick in this draft, not even Wiseman and I love the dude.
