Think it’s important to remember Miles is innocent till proven gulity and these teams are going to be slow to penalize anyone till that person found gulity and the players association fight hard against just this type of thing. So while I know everyone wants blood…chill

I am unsure, reading the article Woj released it sounds like they are saying it was child abuse because the acts were committed against the mother in front of the children. It does not say he specifically if he physically injured the children.

Then goes on to have a DA say "Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable."
Yeah, I have that same confusion. Are they saying it is a felony because parents fighting physically in front of the children puts them in Harm's Way both physically and emotionally?

So
1. He's being charged with two felonies, one for each child for assaulting his wife in front of the children, which put them in potential danger.

2. As he was assaulting his wife, there was some unintentional harm physically done to the children. Maybe the children were trying to break up the fight and were knocked to the floor or pushed out of the way? It wouldn't be surprising to know that the kids were trying to beat on Miles as he was assaulting his wife.

3. Miles intentionally injured one or both of the children during the same incident.

If it's #1 I'm curious if this is a typical charge thrown during felony domestic abuse cases in front of children as a way to get additional charges. Kind of like reckless endangerment.

I have to assume it’s #1, LA DA wants to start with the maximum they could get him for which I assume will eventually be plead down to something much lesser but who knows.

I read it as #1 as well - felony is doing it in front of child, and two felonies because two kids.

i have to imagine if he actually abused the kids it would've made the news.

His wife spoke out about it not long after and didn't mention a thing about kids getting hurt.

His kid was filmed talking about it and only mentioned mom.

Does anyone actually want him back on the team?

We had a promising prospect in Terence Davis who was accused of domestic abuse and the Raptors FO exiled him to Sacramento.
Miles Bridges situation seems significantly worse. I'm unsure what the Hornets organization plans to do with him...

I would be suprised if the goal of the plaintiff is to lock the defendant in prison for a decade. It costs resources the children need to be set for life. There is also the issue of custody and visitation parameters, thus the testimonial of his son witnessing the abuse. That supports 2 more felony charges and makes it impossible for Miles to maneuver in a custody battle.

Defense should be motivated to plead down the charges but if she never wants him to see his children ever again, she wins that concession hands down.

Criminal case, the plaintiff is the state. The victim doesn't decide the charges or set the strategy for the prosecution.

Rich, celebrity, no prior convictions.

I don't really get why he's posting these types of videos like everything is status quo. feels like he's getting bad advice, or he's getting no advice, or he's ignoring good advice. costs him nothing to lay low for a bit. this isn't a civil case or something, he's up on felony charges.

Everybody who has a stake in keeping the Miles money train rolling is positioning for the pre-beating status quo. Trainer, posse, rap studio, etc. Miles being fed a diet of “no big deal, keep training, we’ll beat this…” etc. Sadly he probably will get some light sentence/probation, which could reinforce the feeling that he can skate from anything.
