Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
I have this weird feeling Cody Williams is going to be a guy we seriously consider. Not sure why, just a gut feeling.

Honestly? If his shot isn’t pyrite, worse outcomes. Still prefer Topic, Holland, and Salaun but Williams could easily evolve into one of this draft’s better picks and would slot in nicely next to the M’s

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Latest ESPN ranking/mock has Tidjane Salaun moving all the way up to 8th. If this team wants to take a shot at a possible high impact young player, THIS is who we need to grab. Would love Riarcher but he’s either going 1 or 2…same as Sarr. Castle doesn’t want to be here and is projected 4th, Sheppard 3rd, Buzelis 5th. Unless Clingan has to be our choice (due to hidden issues with Mark) the others available at 6 have limited upside (Knecht), injury concern (Topic), fit (Dillingham) or uneven performance (Holland, Cody Williams). So why reach for Salaun?
Kid has strong measurables, talent, dedicated work ethic, 6’10” with improved 3pt shooting, good stroke. He was cut from the French developmental team as he turned 17. How did he respond? Per ESPN:
As an 18 year old he just completed his tour. Again per ESPN:
Salaun turns 19 in August. He is an excellent candidate to be developed for the Hornets next stage climb, by subbing in as a rookie, then a larger possible role the following season. No other player at 6 is going to catapult this a squad into the playoffs. We really don’t know how Miles will play out. Salaun can play the PF or SF. I like his potential.

"I had to work and hustle for everything, Salaun said. "A lot of people doubted me. Some people who didn't trust me before, I want to make them pay. I wanted to be better, so I put a lot of work into my body to be faster and stronger. I worked on my mindset and shot to be more consistent. I understood I had big potential, but I needed to be the first and the last at the gym every day."
As an 18 year old he just completed his tour. Again per ESPN:
The 6-foot-10 forward is having a highly productive season, emerging as an important rotation player for Cholet Basket in the FIBA Champions League and Pro A. He's averaging 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1 steal in 23 minutes per game, already playing 54 contests across various competitions.
Salaun has made 75 3s in his 54 games, many of which came pulling up off the dribble or running off movement. That is intriguing to scouts, considering his size. He's also shooting 80% from the free throw line. Salaun is a highly competitive defender who gets in passing lanes energetically and shows versatility by covering ground and contesting shots all over the floor with his 7-foot-2 wingspan.

Isn't Salaun the dude launching elbow jumpers over the backboard?
Don't even think Castle does that

He's smaller then Miller in height and weight so I'm guessing he would be SG and we move Miller to SF.

I see him more as a traditional 3 with 3nD potential with miller being an oversized 2. This said, far prefer Salaun or Holland if we’re mining for wings at 6

Yes, Salaun is listed at 6-10, 205. His frame seems capable of adding more muscle/weight, so he is certainly a SF with potential for minutes in a “modern” PF mold. His listed position is PF in France. Miller would set at and defend the 2.
If Salaun “shot elbow jumpers over the backboard” I’m not familiar with it. However, his shooting improved this season. Form is pretty good but can use some refinement via coaching. Three point % is around 32 but his free throw % is around 80. Most analysts seem high on his foundation and potential. He’s not as advanced as Buzelis but could pass him in time. Holland might be the better athlete, and one could easily claim his potential is greater. I would certainly take Holland over Cody Williams, but Holland disappointed at both the combine and on his pro day.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Edey feels like he will land with the Lakers at #17.
I doubt they draft Bronny that high.

Multiple teams will sell themselves on Edey. Somebody will trade up. Spurs at 8 or even at 4 wouldn't surprise me. They are a wild card. When they took Primo early it was pretty unexpected.
I could see the Pelicans, Heat, Knicks, Lakers, or Warriors trying to move up to get Edey.

Yeah I coulld see a trade up scenario.
I think those contending teams makes sense.

I don't think Edey will be a lottery pick, let alone 4th.
Nobody, nowhere is hinting Edey will be close to that lol.
What is the connection here?
Are you his cousin? Did you go to Purdue? Are you Asian?
I don't get the obsession at this point. Like 90% of your posts are Edey propaganda these days lol

I have seen some things online where he is being linked to Memphis at 9, OKC at 12, Heat at 15, Lakers at 17, Raptors at 19. Some of this is just people speculating based on need and what they think.
So if the pelicans who have 21 are working him out, I could see how they might want to trade up if they really like him. I could see something like Kings/Pelicans 13 for 21 plus something.
The spurs could take a look because they have 8. If they really liked him and they don't really feel strongly about who else they might get at 4, they could just say lets grab Edey at 4 and then we are comfortable with who ever drops to 8. So I would say right now his range is most likey 8-21

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Anyone have any predictions or insights to what Detriot might do with the pick in front of us?
Their core is just a mess with Cade and then a ton of non shooters around him. This makes me think they won't add another non floor spacer like holland, Clingnan or Topic with the pick. Issue is the best shooters in Sheppard and Risacher will likely be gone.
Maybe Matas goes there? Heard Detriot might favor him for some secret nepo thing in thier front office, but idk how accurate that is.

Buzelis is connected indeed, due to a family connection, but also could be a good fit per a couple of analysts I read. With Langdon the brand new GM, anything could happen.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah I been hearing Buzelis name for the Pistons. They most likely are looking at wings.

Have to feel like the Pistons and Rockets will want shooting from any non center. The draft could easily go:
Risacher
Sarr
Knecht or Reed
Spurs wild card
Knecht or Reed
Of course there has been so much smoke around the Matas selection, it feels like that must be true.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
I'm starting to come around on Cody Williams... hes just so underweight and not filled out that if you figure that he can put on 30 pounds of muscle by year 3, he has the potential to be a more skilled/gifted Jaden McDaniels or a better version of his brother which would be a perfect fit at the 4 on this team
It's not impossible, we've seen players have massive physical transformations from the rookie years to their 3rd/4th year. Even players like LeBron and Miles Bridges were skinny and underweight coming into the league. Gobert is another who was passed on on the draft for being comically underweight and he was able to add 40 pounds of muscle by year 4
