This team is so devoid of shooting that it would have to take more than another Vonleh-like scenario for us not to draft a wing. Seriously, the only way this team drafts a big is if we luck into Towns or Okafor somehow, and I don't even like Okafor. I don't mind drafting big with our 2nd rounder but even then, we need all the help we can get on the perimeter, plus it's unlikely we even keep our 2nd rounder if history repeats itself.

If we draft a Myles Turner or something at 9 Im not going to post on here for a few weeks. Tired of project bigs, or even projects in general. Id seriously trade the 9th pick to the Spurs for Danny Green straight up if that was even possible. I have no faith in anyone around our pick right now,.

I'd keep MKG, Biz, and Zeller. I'd be willing to trade Kemba if there's a right deal. I don't care if he's the face of the franchise. MKG can fill that role.

hopefully this is a sign he will stay and work on his game.

a mid range jumper would help tremendously

His success at the FT line toward the end of the season was very encouraging. I really think he can move out from the basket a bit, maybe work on baseline jumpers like Udonis Haslem has lived off his entire career, and still be effective. Biz will never be a stretch big, nor do I want him to try, but I think he has a better shot at developing a short jumper than making that hook shot respectable. If it works out it would open up the lane a bit more for Kemba/MKG/Hendo, put Biz in perfect position to catch lobs when the defense helps off him and he would still be close enough to mix it up for offensive boards. Probably save the team money on backboards too. Win/win.

#BringBacktheBiz - The Bismack Biyombo Thread

This has to be another indicator that the team really isn't interested in continuing with the Biz experiment. Right?

This franchise is a lost cause if the front office thinks that a center rotation of Al, Hawes, and Oden, is a good idea... Getting as slow and big (and injury prone) as possible while the league is evolving towards mobile bigs that can shoot...

We have 2 young bigs in Zeller and Vonleh who can play in the paint or on the perimeter. Their versatility fits with today's game. Hawes is the insurance policy.
It has been written...

I still am not sure that they plan to have Al on the roster at the start of the season. We have one quality rim protector and post defender and that is Biz. Oden if healthy provides so post defense as well. I would not be to upset if we had Biz, Hawes and Oden as our three centers to start the season. Now if this is a replacement for Biz we are in huge trouble.

At this point I just hope we can net a decent player in a sign-and-trade.

Oden is nothing more than a big body you hope will pan out into a rotation player. I don't think we're throwing Biz into the fire for someone who hasn't played meaningful minutes since 2009.

I hope we keep Biyombo, but I don't honestly think it will be a devastating blow if we don't.

That's how I feel. Love the guy and really hope he's in our franchise's future, but by no means is he irreplaceable. Just seems like a waste to let him go when it won't have much of a benefit financially and he's on the verge of breaking out IMO.

It wouldn't be a devastating blow, but it would simply be an all-around idiotic move. I would trust a Zeller/Vonleh frontcourt long-term, but a Biz/Vonleh frontcourt with Zeller backing them both up would be fantastic. If Tristan Thompson showed me one thing in these playoffs, it's that having a beast in the paint that does work on the boards and literally nowhere else is still valuable. Give him a year or two and Biyombo can fill that role given the minutes AND he can defend unlike any other backup center in the game. I think he's pretty close already- just needs the opportunity to show it.

I think everyone is gonna feel like crap when Biyombo goes to a good team and produces better there than he ever would've here. Gonna be like DJ but worse :/
