My "wild imagination" is really just me trying to grasp their line of thinking in this and as dreamers I bet that's it.

Right on cue the Hartford Courant speculates the mystery team is the Cavs

http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-men ... 6543.story

We talk alot about how the Pistons can grab a playoff spot by tweaking a few things and adding a good coach but I think that applies more to the Cavs. There's more talent to work with there and more assets to make necessary changes/improvements.

I hope the Cavs do a better job than the Pistons, thus increasing the chances another playoff spot is blocked and the Pistons miss.

2 teams that really have to improve more than the Pistons are the Hornets and Cavs.

You can pencil in Pacers, Heat, Raptors, Wizards, Nets and Bulls ahead of the Pistons.

I really want them to miss the playoffs for obvious reasons.

I'm thinking alot about Mudiay lately.

The Pistons will be at the worst the 10th seed in the East, that isn't good enough to get a top pick

Assuming the Cavs grab 9.

The Pistons finished 8 games behind the Knicks.

How the hell are they going to

a)pass the Cavs
b)cover that gap with the Knicks

The Knicks just hired Phil Jackson.

Think they don't have a plan?

So the Pistons will cover an 8 game gap behind the Knicks (who just hired Phil Jackson) yet the Celtics, owners of 2 first rounders and playing a full year with a healthier Rondo, only 4 behind they Pistons can't possibly cover that gap.

Pistons are just so great.

the Knicks will be basically the same team they were this year next season they have zero assets, bad contracts and no Melo possibly, Detroit has a top 10 pick (probably) getting rid of bad contracts (Stucky,Charlie V. etc) and has about the same amount of cap as we do, and their problems this year are all very fixable (besides Smiths and Jennings brains but they have been key players on playoff teams before)

The Knicks underperformed badly. If they keep Melo and add a decent PG like Shabazz they're going to come up aces. Pistons can't make up those 8 games because the Knicks are going to be better than last year. It's going to be like 15 games. Pistons are not an NBA destination. Their cap space means squat. Nobody wants to play with Jennings and Smith.

The Pistons are going to be no better than 8 slot assuming the Celtics don't catch them (with 2 draft picks and cap space in a more desirable NBA destination and a healthy Rondo).

I bet they end up going into the lottery slotted 6 or 7.

Spin the wheel.

Detroit could end up the same wreck that they were this year, but I think every team in the East, with the possible exception of the Knicks if/when Melo leaves, can improve. If Detroit doesn't find a way to dump Smith/Jennings, and they can't make a half-decent hire, they could find themselves WORSE than they were last season. They also have $10-20M in cap space they totally shouldn't but probably will spend on Evan Turner.

Lebron bumps into guys for fouls, uses his arm, elbows. He's no fun to watch.

The mother **** sticks his elbows out all the **** time.

That's why when people compare him to Jordan I laugh my ass off.

Anybody who makes the comparison is

a) Trying to get attention in media
b) PR person for NBA
c) Never watched Jordan

The calls Lebron is getting tonight is absolutely amazing. My God.
