We really only have one. The other one is the worse between Brooklyn and Cleveland a few years from now, so it is probably like 57 or 58, instead of 37 or 38.

why would the lakers do that?

lakers should absolutely get Hawes, he would help Byron tank beautifully in princeton style... and his softness will melt Kobe's heart :D

I'd rather have Al than Hawes if I was trying to tank.

Cheers for the heads up.

Give them Al and the worst of the BKN or CLE picks for Hibbert.

I'd do that in a heartbeat if they would accept that, do the salaries match up? I know they are both expiring so that helps.

Hibbert gets 15.51, and Al is at 13.5 would the extra 2 million be a problem or no?

Al and Hawes for Hibbert, Nick Young, and a couple second rounders evens it out a little bit......Hawes and Young are both signed to the same length contract with Young being about a million cheaper per year going forward

not an issue. Those two are allowed to be swapped per salary cap rules

I understand why it seems this way for rebounding. We definitely have weak rebounding bigs but our scheme makes up for it. I still don't like that we are limiting what should be one of our biggest strengths, transition offense, in order to make up for our personnel issues. There still seems to be too many games where we get abused on the boards by teams that aggressively go for offensive rebounds. Getting MKG back will probably go a long way to fixing this.

I can't reconcile our interior defensive stats with what I actually see at all though. I'm just going to not think too much into and hope everything will be ok when MKG comes back.

It is weird but I think it has to do with driving the lane. We have nobody inside to protect so wings are crashing down more and they do not recover like MKG could. He was so good at getting back out under control and stopping open looks. Without any defensive presence down low we have committed to rebounding and interior defense as a team but the issue seems to be if we commit to early we get kick out burned. I do think if we could add MKG it would help and if we add some big that can play even a little interior defense protecting the rim it would help even more.

The issue IMO is that our guards are not good at containing penetration. They aren't crashing down to help our bigs contain their own men - if they are crashing it down it's because our bigs have to step up to try to contain because our defenders can't stay in front of their men.

You have to ignore the numbers to say it's because we lack rim protection. Cody and Marv are both posting top 10 rim protection stats this season, and that's supported by the eye test.

I would expect you to say this but I stand by what I see and what we have. We need a rim protector who can stand up and play good solo back to the basket defense without being backed down easily and is a threat to block a shot and we have neither. Stats don't show they are great rim protectors. In 54 minutes a game they average a combined 1.7 blocks. That is intimidating nobody. While other teams have not shot great inside they are not protecting the rim and at key moments no team is afraid to drive the lane for an easy 2.

Tyson Chandler just got two 20+ rebounds game in a roll... I was thinking how nice if the hornets can trade for Tyson... haha..divid Aldridge just mentioned the same thing on NBATV, he said Suns have some pieces attracting other teams, Tyson is a perfect fit for the Charlotte

Are you aware of Chandler's history with CLT?

Do not want and his terrible contract has nothing to do with it.

I wish Chandler's contract was 2 years shorter. Then I would be all over a trade for him. His defense and rebounding would be a godsent. Prime Chandler is what I could have only hoped Bismack would become.

yes...tbh, I am kinda torn with the idea... he can absolutely help this team this season but you won't know what you will get from him beyond this year...

Based on what we got out of a 28 year old Chandler, I don't think you're going to get a very positive response about trading for a 33 year old Chandler on the hook for big money for 3.5 more seasons. We literally salary dumped the guy on the Mavericks after one season. And the catch is that we actually ended up paying MORE to Mexicat and Hammer- the two guys we got back in the trade. We dumped him and actually spent money over time to do so. I love this franchise.
