That's not extra, tyrus is paid for more years

I stand corrected, for some reason I was thinking Diaw, these threads being merged had me confused but didn't he add DJA and Oak has more years left than him, correct?

DJA and Jack have the same number of years so they kind of cancel each other out of this trade, contract wise.

Three main guys who we could look to deal are:

DJ Augustin- Dealing him would open up more minutes for Kemba to finish the year and see if he can be point guard of future and let him learn this year instead of next to prevent those from losing us games next year as opposed to this crap of a season. I think we can expect to get a mid to late first round pick from an Augustin deal, but may have to be in a package deal to get anyone to bite unless there is an injury to a starter on a playoff off bound team.

Boris Diaw- Dealing him would just open up more minutes for Biz, Mullens, White, and Thomas.... Heck at this point I wouldn't mind going small and trying Maggette out at the 4 just to give us an advantage somewhere. He expires at the end of the year so I would not want to take on any prolonged salary from dealing him even if it garners a first rounder. Unless that player would be slightly serviceable and young and on a cheap one year deal after this year.

Tyrus Thomas- I think we are best suited to just hold onto Thomas unless somebody wants to give us a pick and expiring contract for TT. He is overpayed I agree, but we can always amnesty him where as if we would of dealt for Blatche then we would of been stuck with him no matter what. I think we just need to ride out rest of the season with him and then tell him to gain 20 pounds in the offseason and see if he comes back rejuvenated. He would still be a nice first big off the bench especially with Davis and Biz as the starters, because both can slide to the Center spot. Also, he could be a nice match with Mully off the bench because he protects rim and grabs boards something Mully can't do consistently.

I honestly think the only way we deal both Diaw and DJ is in some sort of packaged deal to a playoff team who is trying to beef up their bench. Something with Lakers makes so much sense, because both DJ and Boris are both expiring so it would not cripple them in going for Dwight in the offseason. Or even if they did deal for dwight.... Boris would be a nice fit to put with Dwight as starting 4 because he can spread the floor with his shooting and is a great passer. DJ would compete for starters minutes with Blake and Fisher. I would ask for at least one of the first rounders if not both....maybe take back McRoberts and Goudelock instead of the later first. I would not want to take back Blake because he has 3 years on his deal.... he wouldnt be the worst scenario, but if that is case maybe just letting them expire and get cap space is better deal.

I still like my idea of sending one of those Top-58 protected 2nd round picks to NY for Toney Douglas and cash. We would use the cash to buy out Diaw so he could sign in NY and play for D'Antoni. We can't do a straight-up trade because of the salary problems but we could buy Diaw out with NY's cash.

Douglas would be another young piece to try out; he's fell out of the rotation thanks to poor play and "Linsanity" but was a pretty solid player his first two seasons.

From hoops hype today referring to buying out Diaw.

The Bobacts appear willing to free Boris Diaw from his contract if they can reach an agreement on a buyout. L'Equipe

Obviously the trade market for him doesn't even warrant a 2nd round pick. He's playing like crap to force this type of decision, which then allows him to sign with whomever he can work out a deal with. Heat are looking for a reserve big man. Doris could whine his way out of hell and into a ring.

I'd park his butt on the 15th man stool, tell him to stay away and get fat, then cut Higgins so we can sign a productive player from d-league. If he isn't going to play hard, let him rot. I guarantee he'll light up the engine on another team. Look at the performance he gave in NYC earlier this year! That was a wink to the league that said..."see what I could do on a team where I gave a damn?".

He's screwing over the Cats. Don't do this pus*y any favors.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Whatever it takes for Paul Silas not to play him 40 minutes a game. I mean damn.

The way i read the artical Diaw wants to go back to his other team . Could he not be traded and bought out by a team in tax hell. Maning the other team don't even have to have him report . His value might be more like this than taking a roster spot?

I haven't been a fan of Diaw since his first season with us. He's not shooting any less this year than he has the past two seasons; he's just not hitting shots anymore. The rest of his game is the same as it's always been. He's just not a starting power forward, and that's finally become clear.
Humble yourself.

His team in France is who he was making referance to. I think he is the owner of that team but im not sure.
The artical was leaked out from France in the begining.
It should be a way to get value hear . If any one can it;s Cho

As long as Boris isn't asking for much, I'm fine with this. I think we have to play Tyrus. He doesn't deserve more playing time, but not trying to increase his value when it sits at zero would be silly. If he plays and sucks, well, nothing has changed.

I agree. Tyrus has stunk, but we need to give him more minutes and hope he comes out of his slump by next season. Honestly, part of the reason he has been in such a funk might be because he doesn't know from a game to game basis whether he will even play. DJ White deserves minutes as well. Even for as bad as Tyrus has been, I would much rather watch him and DJ White over Diaw.

Doesn't seem like we will get anything of value in a trade. I'm sure we could trade Diaw and take back a bad contract with a draft pick....but we don't want that. I'm also sure that once we buyout Diaw he will play like there's no tomorrow for the other team. Halfway tempts me to agree with another poster and say screw you Boris, you will sit here on the end of our bench and rot until the end of the season. Here's to hoping we can get SOME value out of him....

Overweight and overpaid...sometimes it seems as if he has no interest in scoring, even when he has a clear lane.

I would love to trade him for a late 1st rounder to a playoff team that feels he can be useful.

Well there is no chance we can get anything for him now. Unless we take on a bad contract, can't see that happening.

Agreed, if he has truly ruined his value then don't cut him, just make him the towel boy and Diop's fluffer for the rest of the year.

Agree with you Sachmo. Just sit his butt on the bench and make him deal with it. Looks like that is what they plan on doing as well, based on this game.
