Shaw has better opportunities.
Who wants LB 2.0 (Nate)?

Dunlap, from what I've read, is a great teacher. At the end of the day, we need a coach that can develop talent. Not a bad hire; everyone is just making a mockery because it's a "far left-field" choice and we're the Charlotte Jordans.

If they hired him, the rest would be history.”

Karl was equally impressed, saying: “He’s the most intelligent person that has a love for the game of basketball that I’ve ever been around. His ability to analyze and articulate and figure out the problems of day-to-day basketball was incredible for me.”

Analyze
Articulate

Sounds like the coach version of Cho. Makes perfect sense.

Just saw this on Bonnells twitter feed and said " Oh my God ".

Don't think there is anything that I can contribute to that hasn't already been said. Other than what in the ****?

. Also, he wants to run an up-tempo offense and attacking defense that figures to fit some of the Bobcats’ younger personnel.

The Observer’s source, who asked for anonymity because Dunlap’s hire isn’t official, said Dunlap impressed the front office with his high energy and collaborative approach. Also, he wants to run an up-tempo offense and attacking defense that figures to fit some of the Bobcats’ younger personnel.

“Mike Dunlap absolutely elevates every player and team he comes in contact with,’’ Karl said. “He takes you from good to great. Name every top-level, elite coach in the game – the only difference between Mike and them is their addresses…There is absolutely no one better.’’

I'm happy. Bet you we acquire another draft pick and take Moe Harkless. (who I've wanted)

The first thing every coach says is always wanting to run an up-tempo offense. I am appalled by this hire. Pray he proves me wrong.

Way things are going we may just draft Jared Sullinger and his bad back with the 2nd pick.

Gesshh... Snyder would have accepted $500K. Guess MJ didn't even want to pay that? Bah, whatever.

yay, another coach talking about playing up-tempo................ and another coach who, once games start, will slow the game down to a crawl while we score in the 80s.

at least he interviewed with MJ today.

meh, i am over my shock. time to get behind this guy.

Dunlap was one of 10 candidates interviewed since the Bobcats opened this search May 8, but the only one offered the job, the source confirmed. Dunlap will replace Paul Silas, who was not given a new contract following the season.

I think he'll get the boys in shape. Might even knock some sense into Tyrus. On a team of young people, having an excellent teacher of the game isn't the worst move we could make.

I think the "assistant at a college program" is distracting people. A good coach is a good coach period.

I didn't say take Harkless with the 2nd pick. But I do want him if we acquire another pick between 10-15. Heck, he might even slip into the top 10 and be gone.

Steve Luhm: Mike Dunlap is probably a fine coach. But Jordan did little to solve Bobcats' street cred issues ... about 7 minutes ago

I know they didn't have a great season but I'm assuming that's due to the Big East being stacked and Lavin having health problems. Probably the worst conference in the country for a rebuilding program to be in.
