That's cute and all, but if you measure him the same way you measure Adrien, he's taller and that's what matters. Even if you get your panties in a twist and insist on pre draft measurements, Love is still two and a half inches taller than Adrien.

I never mentioned that Adrien was taller than 6'6". I just said that maybe there's a scientific reasoning for some of these undersized PFs being more than solid rebounders. You the one that insisted on correcting me about Kevin Love not being 6'8".

Well the real point of my post was to say that the shorter guys (like 6'6" height) are usually good leapers and second leapers (leaping immediately after hitting the floor). Love kind of breaks that mold because he seems to have no elevation. DX lists adrien's max leap at a little over 31 but from the video it looks like he uses those inches better than most bigs.

arguing over a few inches is pointless when it comes to rebounders. there are (and have been) plenty of fantastic 6-6/6-7 rebounders in the league.

adrien looks like a solid dude. probably one who doesnt get pushed out of position very easily. he obviously has a nose for the ball. rebounding is the one area of his game where we shouldnt be the least bit concerned.

better questions, can he defend in the paint? what about away from the ball? what can he do on offense?

I love this move even if it doesn't work out. Rebounding is a huge flaw in our team currently and if all he can do is really compete for every board when he's in the game I'll be happy.

I watched a lot of Jeff Adrien during his UConn years, and he was a big part of their stifling defense in the paint during his time there, albeit he did have Hasheem Thabeet next to him. The fact that he averaged over 9 rebounds and 1 block per game as a starter for the Huskies makes it a bit surprising to me that he hasn't stuck with a team in NBA yet. This is the perfect opportunity for him if Dunlap gives him a chance to play and he can be productive without a short leash. I like this D-League call up a lot. I'm optimistic about Adrien's prospects on this team that is void of athletic and physical frontcourt players outside of MKG & Biyombo.

He got a steal and was making good outlet passes in the video. And his scoring averages in the D League aren't bad at all when you look at them. I wouldn't expect it all to transfer with him but maybe something of an offensive game isn't out of the question.

Or let's give Uncle Cliff Robinson a call.

I agree. I watched Adrien a lot at UConn and loved him there. I remember having him being taken with either the last pick of the 1st round or early 2nd round in my mock draft the year he declared.

He's a bit of a Jason Maxiell/Reggie Evans type. A blue collar grunt guy with some animal in him.

Not a lot of finesse to his game. Wouldn't really want him on the court at the same time at Haywood or Biz but might be a nice pairing with Mully and Warrick?

Hasheem Thabeet seems like a worthy replacement for Diop.

He seems like someone Lamar and I could get behind.

With two NBA stints under his belt, Adrien signed with the Charlotte Bobcats for training camp this past fall. At just 26 years old, the physical forward seemed to fit right in with the personnel, as well as the gritty effort the Bobcats would need to put forth to get respect in The Association.

But the UConn alum was once again let go before the 2012-13 season began. It's difficult to figure out why a player like Adrien hasn't been able to stick with a squad to date. At just 6'7, Adrien plays like a rugged center at times, able to matchup with and muscle his way around an array of opponents.

On offense, he shoots well and uses his strength to make things easier for him inside. On defense, Adrien is utterly fearless. The forward has quick hands and also enjoys using his longer wingspan to pester opposing players inside when they go up for a shot. His ability to play taller and well above his means certainly garners similarities to a player like Chuck Hayes, which explains why a team like the Rockets took a quick liking to him.

Watched him with the Thunder the other night and he has put on a good amount of muscle.

To be fair, some of the best rebounders in NBA history has been considered undersized. Elgin Baylor, Charles Barkley, & Dennis Rodman were all listed at 6'6" while the current modern day rebounding stalwarts in Kevin Love & Kenneth Faried only stand at 6'8". It might be a science to getting boards that don't require being 7-feet tall

The days of 6'6 rebounders are dead..I would rather we sign a 6'11 guy the a similar skill set but i will cheer for him all the same.

I can't contain how excited I am Higgins got cut though....we maybe seriously trying to turn this ship around

Jae Crowder is about 6'4, he's doing fine. If Adrian can do half of what Crowder has done for the Mavs, I'll be impressed.

Adrien is big enough and exactly what we need to light a fire in this team, he is better than Warrick and arguably Thomas who was looking good pre injury, I know we haven't really seen Adrien play but he is the blue collar banger we need to a t.

I always love the wishful thinking before we watch the game and see how much said player sucks...same thing happened with warrick.

For real, last thing this team needs is a d-league scab body to soak up minutes. If we're gonna go with crap just go with our young crap. Biz and Mullens.
