Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
I'd be ok with Oladipo, McLemore, Bennett, Len and even Zeller.
So unless we do something REALLY silly, I think I am going to be ok in 12 hours and 15 mins time.

I agree with this. If we land any of those guys at #4 I'm ok but I'd only be ok with the last three if the first two are not on the board when we pick.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
The trade I'd probably be most happy with of what has been rumored is if we could land Robinson for peanuts and cap space or if we land #12 and Lamb for the #4 (so OKC could get Len). With #12 we could get Zeller, Shabazz or perhaps reach for Anteteokounmpo, who is a defensive freak (albeit against crap competition) or maybe even Karasev.

If we do not trade the pick, then at #4, think I am hoping for Len, Bennett or Oladipo, in that order. Trading down, would be happy with Zeller or McCollum. Of course, my mind will likely change 10 times between now and the pick.

Jalen Rose thinks we should draft Oladipo while that Simmons guy said we should go for McLemore.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
My board is looking like this:
Len
Zeller
McLemore
Oladipo
Then if we trade down:
Zeller
Bazz
Adams
Olynyk
Hardaway Jr.
Nogueira
Hoping to see us trade into the 7-12 area, maybe multiple picks in that range. Gordon's expiring could help us do that.

I like that board. Only difference is I would add Noel to the top list.

The Bobcats should never take heed to anything that Simmons guy think they should do. He prays on their downfall so he can have humorous material at bay when he don't know what to say

I understand that but I still like him. But we are mostly on the same page here. Although for some of those trade down guys it better be a big move. The last four I would not take before the mid teens.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
my christmas is here!!!!!
fat's final bobcats big board - this has changed almost hourly for the past month
1. victor oladipo - he doesnt fill our two greatest needs, size and shooting, but i just dont think i could pass him up if he was available. i absolutely love everything about him. he and mkg would be devastating on the wings. we can figure out spacing, scoring and rebounding some other way. having oladipo would also make me feel a little better about moving mkg, if the right deal came around. and finally, his character and work ethic would fit perfectly next to kemba, mkg and biz.
2. nerlens noel - i have no idea how he and biz would function next to each other, but that is something that we can worry about later. the knee appears to be fine. elite rim protectors arent easy to find.
3. anthony bennett - this guy really scares me. he is undersized, a bit of a tweener, has asthma, weight issues and questionable work ethic. however, he can score and fills a major need. his upside would be worth a gamble.
4. cody zeller - here is the shocker of my board. in a draft with few home runs i would be willing to accept the double. zeller will probably never be more than a solid rotation big man, but i also think he has a high floor. he is too smart, too good of an athlete and too good of a shooter to not be successful. plus he would make a great pick and roll partner for kemba. and he fills needs, size and shooting.
5. alex len - another guy who scares me. i hate the foot problems. if he didnt have the foot problems i would have him in the top 3 easy. i dont trust centers with foot problems. other than that, i really like his game and attitude and i absolutely can see some ilguaskas comparisons if he can stay healthy. fills our needs probably better than any player in this draft - a big man who can score on the block, demand double teams and rebound.
6. ben mclemore - every scout says the same thing about him, he needs to go to a team with strong structure. he needs veterans. he has very questionable people around him. i dont think he is a good fit for our organization. we can find shooting somewhere else. he is not ray allen.
7. cj mccollum - its a bit steep for a combo guard who doesnt really fill a need, but i think this guy has "it". high character, smart, great scorer. it might take him a while to adjust to the size and speed of the game and to find his true position, but i would bet that he figures it out eventually and becomes an impact player.
8. otto porter - of all the guys at the top of the draft i would be the most disappointed with porter. i have not seen anything in his game that makes me think he has an elite skill. we also dont need him and as the rumors suggest, drafting porter means trading mkg. i dont want to trade mkg. i am sure he will be a solid player, but if i am selecting solid players i would rather have zeller who fills a need.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
One of the guys on WFNZ said after Cho's interview the only concrete bit of information he could extract from the whole interview was that the chances of drafting Oladipo was 0.0% Cho said something along the lines of he will be a nice player for another team. The other sports talk guy wholeheartedly agreed.
My final CHA board top 4 is:
McLemore
Porter
Bennett
Len
The cool thing is, we could get one of these guys no matter what.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
So Chad Ford just revealed some new information on SportsCenter.
He says that his best source in Charlotte has hinted that the majority of the front office wants McLemore and they will not pass on him if he is available. Then he said its pretty much split down the middle with Len and Zeller for next choice. Then Bennett and Porter are the next set of guys.....

Chad Ford reports that the Bobcats and Kings look like the two teams most willing to move down.

But McLemore was 4th on your secret board.

I still say Zeller is a target as an added draft pick not as a trade down option. We ain't budging from 4.

The only willing partner is 'Sota and I doubt be last there. Let's gooooo Oladipo!
Explain to me how he wouldn't be there if we traded with Minnesota.. who is going take him before 9????????
I'm not really serious but never count off Cleveland. They even have on already.

Re: The 2013 NBA Draft Night Thread
Chad Ford don't know nothing. I don't think anybody has a clue on who Charlotte is going to take or if they are going to trade down (or up). I will be on the edge of my seat when the Bobcats are on the clock at 4th overall tonight. I believe Rich Cho will make the right choice, even if it's Ben McLemore. I'm not going to lie, I would be very disappointed for a couple of hours if McLemore is the choice with Gerald Henderson in the fold, but I'll get over it because the kid does have some talent that could be useful

I can see us moving back to 9 for Zeller. No way you draft at 4, he will surely be there at 10/11. Doubt Pelican/King/Piston would draft him.
@ #4 Len/Mclemore/Bennett is more likely.

I agree that I think anyone throwing out info about Charlotte is most likely just completely guessing at this point. I think we keep our info private as well as anyone in the NBA.
