I hope MKG isn't injury prone. He's gathering a little history where one could reach and say such a thing. I already consider Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis injury prone myself.

What makes it worse is having to watch more of Jeff Taylor, or, I really really hope not - Tolliver.

Will be very interesting to see what we do with MKG out a month or two. If we're really pushing for the playoffs I have to think we make a move in his stead that would put us in a better position than starting JT and Tolliver (though, with as bad the east has been, we may not NEED to make a move).

Not saying it's what I want, but I'm very intrigued by what we do next.

Tolliver has been awful so far and I'm not about to start counting on him for productive minutes. I agree that if we want to stay in the playoff hunt, which is totally doable in the weak EC, we need to make a move. 5 weeks is a good chunk of games and I can't imagine our team will be incredibly competitive over that span sans MKG.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Ha. Pushing playoffs without MKG. It's a sign that he got hurt we should be tanking. It makes zero sense to try and have a good final season as the Boobcats. Although, if we do try and win now I don't think we would be able to without our best defender. There's just no way anyone else could fill those shoes.

A month & a half without MKG, and more Jeff Taylor could spell losing streaks of several games at a time. If that happens, and the Bobcats end up over 5-7 games below .500 then they might want to think about going into a developmental phase, also known as tanking, where they place Cody Zeller in the starting lineup so he can become accustomed to the toughness of the NBA game. If not Zeller, try inserting Bismack Biyombo into the starting lineup with Al Jefferson as a dual C frontcourt, in which I happen to believe won't hurt the team's chances of winning

I feel like it's really early in the season for a team to try and make a risky, potentially cap killing, playoffs or die kind of trade. That's usually done near the deadline when there's much less guesswork involved. Hopefully they'll just gut it out with the roster as is, see how pathetically weak we are without MKG and just go the development route to maximize our pick in the draft.

Couldn't agree more.

I have to disagree with those who say Tolliver has been horrible though. He is who he is. You can't expect anything more from him than threes and the occasional hustle play, a drawn charge now and then.

Honestly if we end up losing the next couple of games I'm all for tanking.

Excerpt from a article on Jeff Taylor that paid respect to MKG's defense, and how much Steve Clifford values him in that regard

Clifford said his main concern with losing Kidd-Gilchrist is replacing what he brings on defense.

The Bobcats (8-11) are allowing 91.7 points per game, second-fewest in the league.

“If you look at some of the games he’s already had this year from the way he defended LeBron twice, Paul George, Rudy Gay, with the game on the line, there is not many guys who can do what he can do physically as a competitor,” Clifford said of Kidd-Gilchrist. “Also he’s very bright. His technique is better and he’s getting to understand the league better.”

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 2m

Kudos to MKG, still doing what he can at #bobcats practice with a broken left hand.

MKG is a warrior.

I'm glad that the hand isn't stopping him from being involved in some capacity.

He should change his shooting form because of his hand injury and then stick with it.

I hope MKG hurry up and return. Can you imagine how easy last night's game would've been if he played? No way the Warriors could've hided Steph on MKG like they did Tolliver. He would've had 20+ rebounds and Barnes definitely wouldn't have seen double figures.

Cheers JDR720.

I'm pretty sure this was posted a few months ago but it's always nice to read positive media about our players (which is rare)
