That's a damn shame that we have 'starters' that we can't even give away attached to 1st rounders to other teams

I wouldn't say we couldn't do that in all situations, just that in this situation, the Magic preferred cap space.

Their GM sees Lebron + Melo + maybe Bosh on the move and knows teams like the Bulls (Gibson) + Clippers (Crawford/Dudley) + Rockets (Parsons) are looking to part with talent to make room for these superstars.

Then maybe Cho should do the same to clear space that'll allow the Hornets to exhaust Taj Gibson via trade or even go after Lance Stephenson via free-agency with aggression, but what do I know? Gary Harris/Elfrid Payton and K.J. McDaniels/Mitch McGary will fix all of the problems

As I said in the other thread, no one wants Henderson at all. Still kind of surprised Magic turned that down, but as you said I guess it was about cap space.

Cap space is super valuable right now. I'll repeat what I said above in case you missed it.

Their GM sees Lebron + Melo + Love + maybe Bosh on the move and knows teams like the Bulls (Gibson) + Clippers (Crawford/Dudley) + Rockets (Parsons) are looking to part with talent to make room for these superstars.

Heck there's even talk the Lakers would attach pick 7 in order to move Steve Nash.

Before this trade, the Magic had 20 million in cap space, Cho had 17.

I think if he could dump Henderson for crap he would. But he's not getting a real player like Afflalo for Henderson.

Cap space is more valuable right now.

Love + Melo + Lebron + Bosh?

C'mon now.

Thats what MKG is for. Pretty sure Clifford will use him as a SF though.

Were probably going to draft McDermott anyway

Then Cho need to dump Henderson for crap. He traded Sessions and Adrien for crap

Two craps help the cap similarly to how two wrongs make a right for a person that's immoral (adversely speaking)

As of now I am down to only 3 players that I would consider for the 9th pick.

1. Randle
2. Gordon
3. Payne
UPDATED `10-22-2025

These are who I want with our picks in order

THEM - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen

UNCNYC - Arthur Agee, William Gates

I'd be okay with Hood, better than Harris. Terrible reach at 9 and he sucks as a defender but he has + size at the 2 and should be able to switch on defense with MKG really well in terms of team defense, guard the worst scorer, etc.

I asked Bonnell about MKG's shot progressing during the off season, and he said the release point has been corrected but he has a long ways to go.

Thats a ton of progress right there

And we're trying to do the same thing with Henderson, but as the story has gone for a long time we can't find any buyers.

I have no doubt he's trying. Henderson + 24 for Afflalo is a strong attempt. Too bad Denver wants to hold onto Afflalo for leverage in a Love deal.

I'm convinced Cho could've signed Henderson for $3 million instead of $6 million annually, and not one other NBA team would've tried to intrude to outbid them

They should've just kept Rudy Gay. They would've had more potential to be more than 1st/2nd round playoff fodder as currently constructed. Neither of Tayshaun Prince or Ed Davis panned out well for them, just walking assets in which they lose assets to incur

Did they ever win a playoff series with Gay there? I can't remember.

At least their are progressing with something. Good sign that something can be corrected on his shot.
