I think you could make an argument that he's already there. Allen, Iggy, and Kawhi are there with him, but I think he's surpassed guys like Deng and Butler

Yes please rename the thread title. I have found the current one offensive and unnecessary.

As to MKG, I am very pleased to see his progress. I have been on record as believing his shot was fatally broken. While he will never be deadly, Price has helped him develop a serviceable stroke. He can build on that and add to the rest of his game. It is remarkable to see how important he is to this team. Happy for the young man and glad to eat some lightly sauteed crow.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I love the current name of the thread and think it was great but I am also fine with changing it. I like the motor comments for a thread title if we have to change it.

I thought this treads name was fun and would not mind keeping it to the end of the season and then going through the change process.

Aricle on DPOY. MKG is on the just missed the top 5 list. Basically says he is a bad ass, well says Tony Allen is and in MKG's blurb says he is everything Allen is. The problem is he has missed too many games, averaged too few minutes, and it's just so hard for a perimeter guy to crack the top 5 in DPOY voting.

Nothing outstanding here, but glad people are actually recognizing him in a positive sense.

Would like to see that too, seemed like Val get worked up over nothing. I didn't see anything that MKG did before he got shoved.

131 players average 2.5 FGA from midrange. MKG is 26th on that list. Pretty damn impressive.

Obviously, he's taking less shots and the looks are more wide open, but nevertheless he's been our second most precise catch-and-shoot player at 41.5%, just behind Mo. Or to put it into perspective - Mike's been thrice as precise as Lance.

His percentage is even better on pull-ups (42.3%). On those he also only trails Mo, who's probably bound to slip in both categories at some point. (Marv and JT are also ahead but their sample size is tiny)

"thrice as precise" is nice like rice.

This kid deserves more national attention. If he was in a bigger market he would be getting considered for defensive player of the year.

I haven't watched much of the Warriors, so I can't speak much to it, but I keep seeing Draymond Green getting mentions for the award. I need to catch a Warriors' game to see how he and MKG compare. They have a lot of the same measurables and Green is obviously a bit more polished. Of course he's also got 3.5 years on MKG.

I honestly think Green is one of the most overrated players in the league. He keeps getting mentioned as a max contract player and such which is ridiculous/. Hes a great defender, but he can't guard 4 positions at an elite level like MKG.

Wanted to compare their combine stats, and DX made it easy: right next to each other in their exhaustive database.

Draymond Green - 2012 (Height w/o shoes) 6' 5.75" (Height with) 6' 7.5" (Weight) 236 (Wingspan) 7' 1.25" (Reach) 8' 9" (Body fat) 11.3 (Hand length) 9 (Hand Width) 9.50 (No step vert) 28.0 (No step reach) 11' 1" (Max Vert) 33.0 (Max Vert Reach) 11' 6" (Bench) 9 (Agility) 11.01 (Sprint) 3.40

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - 2012 (Height w/o shoes) 6' 5.75" (Height with) 6' 7.5" (Weight) 233 (Wingspan) 7' 0" (Reach) 8' 8.5" (Body fat) 7.0 (Hand length) 9 (Hand Width) 10.25 (No step vert) 32.0 (No step reach) 11' 4.5" (Max Vert) 35.5 (Max Vert Reach) 11' 8" (Bench) 6 (Agility) 11.77 (Sprint) 3.18

Lol nice research. Green looks like he is way heavier than MKG does, though. MKG looks lanky as hell.

I always enjoy pointing out that Green is four years older than MKG.

If you ever compare MKG to Green on any board but this one you'll quickly get shouted down. No one ever seems to believe a 21 year old might improve, in spite of the fact that Green himself was far less of a player than MKG is now at 21.
