Harvard is retweeting their JLin alumni video from a couple of years ago.

I didn't realize that Jeremy interned for a senator, though a quick google search shows it was his local state senator. I guess Jeremy's connection to politics predates all those videos the White House has him do for them.

Lin's bruised hands.. yike
Yeah, he's paying dearly for those fouls drawn. He's sacrificing his body for the Hornets. Those bruised hands don't look good.

I have a feeling that game 5 they're not going to give Lin any easy trips to the line, it's going to be a tough one. I'm hoping that Batum will come to ease off the pressure that they'll place on Kemba and Lin. Lin better get his stroke going because they won't allow him to live in paint as he's been doing lately.

I agree. Lin may have to think of using the step back short 2. I think he'll be able to still get to some spots, but he'll be mauled if he tries to shoot layups. So, mid-range shots. Lin tends to take 3s, miss a few and get discouraged so I think it's a better idea to get the stroke down for closer shots and then try some 3s.

I do think that Lin's speedy penetration is a double-edged sword, which can also cause foul troubles of some key players of Miami Heats.

Do you guys think of Lin as a point guard? He's a point guard height but what type of guard does he play like?

I don't know the answer, but that also confused Miami coaches.

I see him as being able to organize the offense but he doesn't have to do it from the point position as primary ball handler. He seems quite happy to have another facilitator/ball-handler along-side him to work in tandem with. But his real strength to me is to come in the game at a strategic time and if the energy is sagging, bring it up for the whole team. And he focuses on the defensive end big time as well. That's looking like a prime Ginobili function just in a shorter, rugged body.

If he can get his outside shot falling the Hornets are gonna sweep the next two. If Lin remains ineffective from range (he's more likely to be open due to his ability to drive and thus back off defenders unlike Marvin), its gonna be tough as only Kemba right now has shown to be any sort of effective from outside. Just having 1 reliable shooter aint gonna cut the mustard if Miami decides to roll the dice and go hard box 1 zone a few times to see if we're gonna catch fire from range. The team is just brutally cold right now.
Hey, Lin was 3/6 for the past 2 games from deep tho. That's not too bad?

I miss Ed Davis.
He is playing well in Portland.
He and Lin are the 6thMOY candidates too.
The Hornets don't have this type of bigs to run PnR with.
The Lakers are so stupid to let them leave.
Furthermore, Byron Scott was intentionally to split them into different lineups.
Great video. 6th men!
It's not BS's fault. He was merely trying to lose enough games. Gotta have some sympathy for them doing the Nash trade.
Wish Cliff would have tried to do this earlier with Lin and Cody, it's not too late.

He was basically the de facto PG whenever he was on the floor the past two games until his exhaustion. His main problem as a PG is that he's too turnover prone, so Cliff probably wants him to play SG more. Once he's gotten that taken care of, he'll have no problem as a PG.

It's really great that Coach Nick appreciates what Lin does. Shut the haters up.
The both of them off the court stat......how often are they both not on the court except for trash time and injuries?
Sad Haslem has become like Big Al as a PnR defender......
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

Not sure what happens to his usage with Batum back.

Re: Not In The Face - The Jeremy Lin Thread 3 + 1
I foresee alot of ineffective mins for Batum as he's usually pretty crappy coming off of injury and alot of reduced mins for Lee (him playing 42 mins is crazy) and reduced mins for Lin (from mid 30s to high 20s). Lin has been so effective that it'd be lunacy to pigeonhole him back into his old role of stand in the corner wait for a swing pass shooter/attacker and reduce his mins back to the mid low 20s.
I want Batum's usage to be throttled back until he proves that he can shoot lights out or can penetrate beating his man in the ISO fairly reliably like Kemba/Lin can. Why attack Miami's best defenders at the big wing (Winslow, Deng, Richardson) when we're dicing their small wings (Wade, Dragic) to bits with our little wings.
Gonna be interesting to see how the Heat will try to adjust guarding our small fast guards. But if we go back to our game 1/2 schemes we're gonna get killed. Batum's passing is worthless in the halfcourt set as he's too damn slow in moving the ball and thus letting the Heat defenders always get into excellent position to defend. Batum ball has given us the horrendous offensive efficiency and ultra low assists in the Game 1/2, whereas fast attack small ball has given us MUCH better results. Sprinkle in a minor dose of Alfense to mix it up, but not too much as that can totally bog an offense down too, and pray for rain from our shooters.

Isiah Thomas keeping it real. as a lin fan. I got to say watching lin so far ballin with the hornets , taking over Batum minutes. I am beginning to see a future for lin to lock in and play with the hornets. Lin off the bench is ok as long as he gets to run the offense. But seriously lin starting with kemba , why not? anything , but please no more 3D lin.

I'm happy with Lin's performance tonight he's proven to be an integral part of this team, a huge part in the playoffs so far. His shooting is still a bit off but he had very good presence everywhere else.

Re: Not In The Face - The Jeremy Lin Thread 3 + 1
Heat fans are still complaining about the foul calls. Here are some against Lin -
"Foak kemba and Lin and all those floppers"
"Idk if Winslow can handle that kind of speed. I'd rather him guard Lin or something." - he can't handle Lin's speed either
"Give this ugly ass Asian a fine after this game... Ball Don't Lie BITCH!"
"This flopping, bad haircut-having bitch."
"I might start calling him Flop Suey." - OK, a little more original.
"dude is horny for attention with all those random hairdo's" - Lin horny? Only for tattoo girl.
"Second, Lin is a bitch that hasn't deserved half the free throws he's gotten in this series."
Heat got away with a lot of miss calls this game. Lin bounces a ball off JRich's foot and they call it Heat ball? Deng hits Lin twice with the shoulder on the post up and Lin gets the foul called against him? Lee's breakaway looked like Wade tipped it from the overhead camera angle.
