OMG all these terrible chucker, undersized combo guards being mentioned is making me nervous - Gary Neal, Ben Gordon, Janerro Pargo, Jimmer....

11. Charlotte Hornets: Malik Monk, G, Kentucky
Some highly touted player was bound to drop out of the top 10 in a draft this deep, and that wound up being Monk, who could have potentially gone as high as no. 3. Monk has a rare combination of athleticism and shooting ability, and he should be able to earn playing time right away as a floor spacer and secondary scorer coming off the bench for Charlotte. While he will need to improve defensively to be in Steve Clifford’s good graces, this was as good an outcome as the Hornets could have expected at this spot. Monk didn’t have the benefit of playing with much shooting around him at Kentucky, and he could be an even better scorer in an NBA environment.

Looks like I'll be defending Monk like I had to defend Kemba for the next 3 years until he become a all-star. Looking at the some on the board and mods reactions not everyone is too fond of him like I am. I like that tho.

Can't make this up: the stream at the Swarm party went out as Silver approached the podium. People went from cheering for Monk (pre-pick) to booing...and then everyone grabbed their phones and we all got excited again in spurts.

HAHA, you're already trying to talk like we aren't all collective excited about this pick. A few, Debbie Downer posts, doesn't mean much. That's my personality. Check the happiness thread. It's like you want there to be a division so you can argue.
